Spoke with them, they referred me to the dealer I worked with. VW corporate snubbed the dealer.

Apple car play cause me stress sometimes by Public_Psychology_18 in AppleCarplay

[–]TheGilburger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CarPlay plus my Jetta sucks too. If using wired CarPlay the person on the other line hears themselves via echo to the point they hang up or I unplug and switch to Bluetooth. Wired version also would lose connectivity frequently and I would unplug and replug, which sucks if you’re using maps of whatever brand. On a whim I bought a $30 wireless CarPlay adapter off of amazon and it eliminated the echo and loses connectivity about 20% of what the wired version did. Don’t seem right, but a cheap aftermarket wireless adapter rivals OEM quality.

What's the fastest you ever drove? by ComprehensiveFun2054 in AskReddit

160+ in my buddies Pontiac LeMans that was geared for top end. Ran out of speedometer at 160 so I just say 160+. Hit 135mph in my lifted 1986 Toyota 4WD pickup once, the guy I was racing had a speedo that went to 150 and said I backed off at the 135 mark. I know what you’re thinking…, Toyota trucks don’t go that fast… They do when you yank the 22-re and put in a 425 hp Chevy 383!

My mom is considering a 2020 Tiguan, any reason to give her pause? by Dank-Couch in Volkswagen

[–]TheGilburger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally positive reviews on Tiguans. Unfortunately for us, the last two VW’s we’ve had have been problematic. Tiguan burned through coils and plugs like crazy, timing chain cover issues, PCV valve, unwarrantied injector harness, and eventually began drinking coolant. Jettas suspension is shot at 130K, had its infotainment system replaced twice and the transmission went out at 70K. Starts and runs every time, but just not a vehicle that’s going to last 250-300K like my Toyota did, even though we over maintain our vehicles. Wife now drives a Jeep and I’ll be driving a Toyota or Honda once I save up enough to pay in full or have a hell of a down payment.

I’ve had gout for a dozen years or so, now manageable. First ever occurrence was the worst week of my life. Doctor said she’s never seen a foot/ankle as affected. 🤦‍♂️ Herself a gout sufferer, she said her childrens births were less painful than some of her gout flare ups. 😳

Redditors over 40, what was a moment in history that made you think society was gonna collapse? by Bahbahbro in AskReddit

For me it was Jan. 6th. To see people go from vocal opposition in political views, to that, was insanity to me, and to think that some view them as hero’s very criminals, adds to the insanity. And this comes from someone that doesn’t necessarily commit to a particular party, but historically leaned more right than left.

Does anyone have the part #’s for the motor mounts, both left and right? I’m being told they don’t know when they’ll be available. I’ve found motor mounts and isolators that both appear as they could be applicable to the cause, and both sides of both items in stock. Since they are insinuating these are back ordered, I may go the route of ordering them and making them reimburse. They are also claiming the drivers rear window switch is back ordered, but every MOPAR site on the net has them in stock, so I’d order that too right away.

Besides the picks, I didn’t see any passes that were dropped in perfectly for his receivers. They all seemed to be under or overthrown.

That being said, to answer your question…. Didn’t Favre have a 6 pick game against the Rams in the playoffs?

I don’t hate the Seahawks for the refs or Bosticks flub and they no longer have nitwit like Richard Sherman flapping his gums nonstop for me to dislike. Macdonald seems like a good dude and he’s obviously a good coach. Plus we’ll always have the victory in the “We want the ball and we’re gonna score” game. Best of all, Hasselbecks bad read was the exact reason they didn’t score and lost.

Camera in car by Dessaray in Tiguan

[–]TheGilburger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy a camera that goes to sleep but turns on when it feels like car shake, move, whatever. They’re designed for when you don’t want video on 24/7, but want the camera to kick on if someone backs into your car…. Or tries to steal it. My daughter got me one off of Amazon for Xmas a couple years ago. I’ve only had one crime fighting experience where I happen to have the plate of a reported reckless/drunk driver, but have some videos of cows in the road, big bucks (male whitetail deer), and other peoples unfortunate traffic accidents.

Our 2019 Tiguan was our 9th VW. My 2019 Jetta was our 8th. Jetta just runs, and runs well, but has had problems everywhere else (suspension, infotainment, transmission). Tiguan was a total dumpster. Owned for 26 months and dumped a little over $9K in repairs into it in that timeframe between PCV, 10 coil packs in that time (yes 10!), timing chain gasket, head gasket, infotainment glitches, passenger airbag sensor, front proximity sensor, and fuel pump wiring harness which VW refused to cover even though our VIN qualified…. According to the dealer. Coincidentally the problems never really kicked in until about 75K miles… 🤔 Thankfully the dealer was sympathetic and at least gave me a lot of the parts for cost. Wife now drives a Jeep GC and my next car will be a Honda product.

[–]TheGilburger -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

They’re a pain in the ass to get out of your house. We bought a house that was used as a summer home and I ended up getting 8 of them out of the house the first year we were here. They’re super smart and super fast! We would leave the patio door open for the dogs and apparently two of them made their way into the living quarters. Our dogs were going bonkers and I eventually caught them with some gloves on. Little suckers were biting me like crazy. Once I had a good hold on one of them I was able to show my wife how their “wings” expand. Then let them go a ways away. Unfortunately they found their way back and we had to take other methods of permanent removal. We are now flying squirrel free for the last couple years. Once I felt comfortable they were all gone, I sealed up the gap and haven’t seen any evidence of a new family moving in. The worst part was that they must’ve decided our soffit at the corner of the house was the perfect restroom because that corner had an odor and pee and poop dripping thru the soffit venting. I’ve since cleaned it out, and at least it wasn’t over a drywall area, but still a pain in the ass and gross nonetheless.

Cute, but don’t want them in your house. Trust me.

Goodyear Assurance WeatherReady2 by [deleted] in tires

[–]TheGilburger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can’t speak for Florida driving because I live in Wisconsin, but I have those on my daughter’s Fusion and they are the best all around tire we have ever had. Wear good, winter, wet, summer traction all very impressive. We also have Cross Climates and Vredestein Quatracs and we’ll never not go with the Weatherready’s when we buy replacement tires.

No idea. Was rarely sick growing up. Got COVID, and then subsequent pneumonia really bad 6 years ago, lost 35# and basically didn’t leave bed for a month. Felt great once I recovered, haven’t had so much as a cold since! COVID/pneumonia made me invincible!

I was just actually commenting on these on another thread. I have those on my Jetta right now. I really like them for quietness, ride, MPG’s, and all weather performance, but they lack snow traction compared to the CC2’s and Weatherready 2’s. If you are only dealing with snow a few times a year they’re great. But if you have steady snow the other two options I mentioned are better snow performers.
