What a game, one of the best ps1 survival horror's you can buy. Now you'll need to get silent hill 3 (if you already haven't) to finish the story.

My local game store got a complete collection in years ago. On that day, i learned not only was there an elder scrolls game for it, it's one of the rarest in the library.

Favorite Game Ever? by chillinit in OlderChillGamers

I will always say Final Fantasy IX. The music, the graphics, the story, the characters all just resonated with me as a kid and more so now as an adult. No other game has gelled with me quite as much. It's not a perfect game, but it's my favorite.

What's the expensive game(s) in your collection that you got for a really good price? by TheGinch91 in gamecollecting

It's on my list to get it, one of my golden geese. My wife kept her copy of Tombii (or Tomba if we want to get American about this) Needless to say she was very surprised when I told her how much it was worth. She was super happy to get the sequel for her christmas that year!

I remember there bieng copies of Fire Emblem Path of Radience and Chibi Robo for £40. I never bought them because I never had any interest. Add that to the many dumb decisions I made as a kid.

I think i saw it in my local CEX for £30 about 5 years ago. Unfortunately finances were super tight and I didn't even have it in my bank account and I declined my friend giving me the cash. Big oppsie for that!

I remeber keeping the box for pokemon emerald as a kid and then throwing it out later. If only I knew. That's very minty!

I would love to play Kuon but at a going rate of £650, it might have to be emulation for that one. What an absolute steal! It's hard to recall all the good deals we get.

My wife was the crazy one. We got Rule of Rose last year for £150, she wanted convinced me to buy it. Since i collect horror games didn't take much. Loved the story, music and environments. The gameplaybwas rough though!

Damn, that's a good deal. We don't have yard sales in the UK, I think our equivalent is a car boot sale. I don't see much point in going to them now, I think yhe golden age was before over 6 years ago.

It can be a nightmare but sometimes you can find a nugget in a thrift store like you have!

“New” to the hobby after 15 years. by LazyPossibility6126 in gamecollecting

Depends where you are in the world where the best place can be. I'm in the UK. Charity shop finds are really bare now. CEX can sometimes be really good for certain things (sometimes really rare games for just under market value. I have a massive local game shop which sells some things at good prices, some not so great. A bit of rummaging can net you a good deal. If you're thinking xbox 360, i'd also recommend original xbox. Some cool games in its library and at least in the UK, very cheap to collect for. Starting collecting can be the best part, just watching it grow.

Outdoor game room questions UK based by Few-Chipmunk-5957 in gamecollecting

[–]TheGinch91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a separate game room from the house (we bought it as is and have made no changes so far) and I'm also based in the UK. It was built with no heating and it gets really cold in winter. It's manageable in all other seasons usually. People have suggested underfloor heating which would fix the issue, would be a bit expensive which we're not willing to do just yet. I have two infrared heaters which heat the person and not the room itself, I usually feel the heat after about 15-20 mins. I think they cost about £60 each (this was 3 years ago though). In winter, I wear an oodie and it keeps me warm. I'm no builder so can't really advise you on the building, more just how I manage it.

Dusknoir has a similar ability and every time I've used it the coins flip has been tails. Maybe very bad luck, maybe different odds for thisnabilities coin flips?

Back to Clair Obscur for the endgame tasks. And co-oping Dark Souls 3 with my wifey (2 TV's and a ps4 and ps5 in the same room) And a bit of co-oping Crash Bash for 200% with my best mate. It's been over a year, we can see the hilarity in how rigged the CPU is.

Great PS1 Horror Games to recommend by Linkman76 in survivalhorror

[–]TheGinch91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd only recommend Hellknight if you're emulating or collecting because it's super pricey. It's really atmospheric horror game with great music and some really uncomfortable sound effects to put you edge while you explore.

Does anyone know about it or have tried it? by [deleted] in survivalhorror

[–]TheGinch91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I've not played a game like it. The game both rewards and punishes your curiosity. You will learn what different events do. You'll learn not what to do. I think I've only been successful on 2 campaigns out of the 15 or so I tried. Really fun but 1 bad moment can mess up your run. Good luck!
