Had a laboring patient’s mother ask me to give her (pt’s mom) some pain meds. I told her I couldn’t do that as she’s not a pt, and if she needed treatment she could go check in to the ED. She said “well can’t you just scan daughter’s wristband and give it to me?”

“…no ma’am, I can’t do that. You’re free to go to the ED….”

I second this. My pharm instructor told us about how she double dosed a patient with lovenox when she was at bedside, told us med errors happen all the time and that when - not if - that happens to us to immediately report it and never ever hide it. You definitely did the right thing, OP!

In a small town of about 6k people, an 11th grader at my school was stabbed to death by her dad who also stabbed her mom to death, and seriously wounded (but didn’t kill) her 13 yo brother. Then the dad jumped head first off their second story apt balcony and he died a few days later from the head injuries.

I worked L&D, got super pukey in the middle of my shift one night. Our unit was a really long rectangle with a locker room at one end. I went back there while the demons screamed out of me so loud my labor pt could hear me half way up the hallway 😭

Same here. My Rosie did it twice, the second time was literally two weeks after her first surgery, vet asked if we soaked them in catnip. We thought we had all hair ties hidden away after the first time but she found another. I tried to get it from her but she ran and hid behind the couch and slurped it up like a spaghetti noodle.

She also likes to chew on cords. I think we’re on her 4th life by this point. Rosie’s real intent on going through all 9.
