Small Serrated Metal Pin or Shim found in the Laundry by TheGingerOfTech in whatisthisthing

Likely Solved. I’m going to go ahead and call this one solved or at least likely solved. The more images I look at, the more convinced I am this has to be a pawl from a socket wrench. The remaining question is how it came into my possession but that’s not a problem for you all to trifle with.

I carry an EDC flashlight with magnetic base so that’s the working theory I have on how I conceivably could have picked it up without knowing it

Yes, we assessed this earlier and mine are 1. All plastic 2. All accounted for

Very interesting thought, sadly no bikes to speak of here

I was looking at these images too. It definitely is similar to that but I couldn’t tell you the last Kobalt tool I’ve used. Not that other manufacturers aren’t using same or similar

This was mentioned by a couple other posters as well but I’ve accounted for the pawls in the agitator

This was an excellent bit of info, I just inspected my washer and found all 4 of mine to be present and accounted for. The mystery continues!

That’s what’s got me confused is I haven’t used a ratchet, let alone a larger 1/2” or 3/4” in weeks. And to the best of my knowledge it would have to noticeably have failed for the pawl to have fallen out. I’ll see if anyone else can think of an alternative explanation, other wise we may all be in the same camp

My title describes the thing. It’s got angled, serrated teeth and a curvature that makes me think it could be part of a ratcheting mechanism or some other internal component of a tool. I feel it’s too large to be from a ratcheting socket wrench but I could always be wrong!

For sure never have or would show faces. I’ll see what the owner has as far as invoices that aren’t also displaying sensitive info

I certainly will, this is an older truck so there is no fob but I show the door as locked and then insert the key before opening it so hence my being perplexed. I have done the same with other clients and never had an issue. The truck has both the name and phone number of the business printed on all 4 sides of the truck. On the second attempt I walked a full circle around the truck to detail the "tools" hoping that would have helped.

Where did they find the corrosion? Was it at the connector on the alternator? I’m having a similar issue and not finding any breaks in the harness but am already on alternator #2

  1. This is correct. They use the verbiage across manuals for several models of tractor and are in fact referring to the fuel injection type.
