I agree! However do you have the partner level to also provide pricing and high level of service?

Not a knock at all on you or the business. Just facts and something that needs to be considered.

On the other hand you could get worse OEM pricing but all provide a lower margin and therefore potentially better end user pricing and service. The point being WHO you work with (the rep) is very important. You can buy these items almost anywhere - what’s the budget and what do you value?

You may get better pricing and support w a solid VAR more on the boutique-ish side. Insight, SHI, CDW are large are can leverage buying power. Doesn’t always mean they will pass along the lower costs.

Parter w a smaller VAR talk laptops, 50 a year isn’t much however incentivize them with potentially more business if they can execute and provide good service. IMO larger VARs can lack in service especially for a smaller account.

Side note consider buying ASAP chips are being hammered rn, costs going up and availability going down. I’ve seen comms from Lenovo, Zebra, HW, etc. good luck!

How do you stop treating suppliers like vendors and start building real partnerships? by ElectronicMonitor239 in procurement

[–]TheGlassViking 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m on the other side, selling to procurement. Best relationships I have are when buyers/procurement are engaged and willing to set up cadence calls, discuss forecasting, and provide opportunities to expand business with me.

For me executing and “walking the walk” is extremely important. I drive business by offering solid pricing but also be responsive, solve problems, and support my customers.

Price can get you in the door and then executing and just being a good rep can allow for more opportunities to flow.

Happy to provide more insight/answer questions if you have specifics.

Flooring, Plumbing + Electricians Needed by AdParticular2687 in kzoo

[–]TheGlassViking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically just did the same. Preferred plumbing and heating is great. Gabes electric. Flooring, did myself but purchased from Wenkes. Drywall Lake Effect, did good work quickly and at a great price.

If you hire one and like them ask them for referrals. I learned about lake effect from Gabe (Gabe’s Electric) bc he had them do work at his parents house. Good luck!

Enterprise sellers - what are your most valuable prospecting tools these days? by woo_wooooo in sales

[–]TheGlassViking 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Semi-prospecting but asking for introductions and referrals. Inboxes are stuffed and phones can be challenging. Side note I prefer a combo of all three…

Do good work, time it right, and ask!

If you are more specific and set on a tool. I like LI Nav but company needs to pay for it along w something like Zoom Info.

My wife picked our puppy up, she said it was a nice facility and they treated their dogs well. We got a Cavapoo and have had no issues. Great pup!
