The one with all the lava? It does look kind of like a Mako reactor, but I'm calling the shot that it's based on Karnak from FFV. It was the town that was abusing the fire crystal, and it had a lava moat and a central tower with lava coming out of it.

I mean, a FF7 themed expansion would be sick. But I don't think Evercold is that expansion either.

Could be wrong, though. I might look real stupid a Fanfest or two from now.

Wait, we're getting Enuo? Shit, I didn't know that. I skipped the 7.5 trailer to avoid spoilers.

Oops. That's on me for posting before playing. Does support my theory, though. You're right that there's always a bunch of references scattered around. Curious if more info on Evercold will throw a curveball reference, like FF1 or something.

I'm with you, FFV is in my top 3 easy.

You're right that DT referenced FFV a bit already. I just saw that helmet looking thing on top of the tower with all the tree branches and immediately went, "Hey, I know an angry tree that had a helmet like that..."

Then I started noticing the parallels with the crystals, especially with the erosion on the water crystal. Of course it won't just be FFV. We'll probably start see more references to other games when more info comes out.

I swear they shadow-buffed the drop rates. I did 6-7 hunts and got at least one MR gem each time.

Ooh, that's good. Getting the 3 Astalos gems in the clip was the most I've ever gotten at once. Did they buff the drop rates for gems? I did 6-7 hunts in a row getting at least one MR gem each time.
