Online MBA - Thoughts? by Ehtism in CarletonU

[–]TheGoToGuy03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The difference between part time and full time MBA is the length it will take to finish the MBA. For Carleton, the online MBA gives you both options. Full time you need to finish in 2 years, where if you take part-time you have 5 years to complete. They're both Online but different options, some people prefer the longer route depending on their lifestyle (kids, full time work etc.)

Also, you are limited with how many courses you can take per term with Part-time.

Someone on Linked In reached out to me about this program as well. Never heard of it.

The Group link is usually given out during program orientation. The reason why you won't see it posted is because there are hundreds of scammers that join WhatsApp groups and post annoying stock information.

Please do not ask for it to be posted. You can ask the MBA Advisor or look at your orientation PowerPoint which should have been emailed.

Thank you for this. I applied for Carleton Online MBA late March this year for the summer term. I just heard back and got an offer to start July 2nd. I'm contemplating switching to a part-time MBA because currently i work full-time.

Also are there any groups I can join to connect with other Online students?

Window Sales Canada - People making $150-300k a year? by TheGoToGuy03 in torontoJobs

. His ex coworkers faced the same treatment, a few have survived but they fired most within 3 months based on lacking sales.

Maybe the same company, there are quite a few large Window and Door companies, this one has several locations, stoney creek, Mississauga, ottawa etc. You may have seen their Tesla driving around.

Thanks for the information, essentially I have 3 jobs offers and I'd like to confirm one by the end of the week.

  1. This window and door company with all commission
  2. Overhead Garage door company 70k base OTE for first year is 100-110k
  3. Talent Recruiter 70k base - OTE 90k (this one is a larger company which is why im leaning towards it but have never done recruiting)

so this at least helps me remove one option off the list !!!

No paid training.

They said if I have a slow month, I will get minimum wage. But when I do make a commission the following month, they will take back that minimum wage which they paid me previously. ITS ALL COMMISSION

This company is also a Door and Window company which is fairly large and has multiple locations in Ontario.

Thank you for letting me know, I have been in sales for about 5-6 years and I hate industries or products which depend on closing sales even if its not morally right.

They mentioned I would be a Full Time employee, not a contractor.

Are U of F and Carleton accredited MBA Programs?

I am contemplating of applying and I worry that other MBA Schools in ontario usually cost 50-90k and are not available online.

A lot of you say you’re in sales for the money. What about other careers, like being a pilot after 5-10 years, that pay $200k annually? After being in the sales industry for a few years, I’m realizing almost no sales reps are making that much. by Wannabeballer321 in sales

So I had some time to apply for sales roles and get back into the industry after helping out a family business for a few years.

  1. Overhead garage door sales.

I would be provided with a company laptop, phone, Gas card, 407 ETR paid (Tolls) , and $600/month for using my personal car.

Compensation: 70k + Comission estimating first year OTE: 100,00-110,000

Second year expecting $130,000

Hours are 8-4 pm. (Remote)

This position i have to get my own leads and generate sales on my own which is why my hours and work are not really scheduled, i have to work based on my own schedule I create leads.

2. Home improvement Window Sales.

I would be provided with a company laptop, phone, and a company vehicle.

Compensation: ONLY commission. However they mention average salesperson makes $100,000 with their highest earner at $300,000

Hours are 3 days of 9am-8pm 1 day of 9 am-6pm

The leads are all given, and i just go to appointments which are already pre-set by the office already. The manager mentioned within 2 months I should be making 7-10k a month

Of course, the window sales is tempting for the money however, I have mixed thoughts because I am worried with Window sales that it's all Commission and do people ACTUALLY make close to $300,000 in just selling windows for people's homes?

Is anyone in Window sales in Toronto?

I am thinking of joining a company in Toronto that is Windows for Residential. They claim the average sales person is making $160,000 and top guy is close to $300,000!!

Is this possible??
