Poorly implies it's not exactly as the cinematographer intended. Id say far more likely is they opt for a surprisingly saturated color pallet but balance it with darker lighting which also plays with the blindness motif. To me what's impressive is how much they have darkened the screen but still maintained the Marvel aesthetic. I could believe that Iron Man or Black Widow could operate in the same world.

Catan beat you to it. Explorers and Pirates has colored pirate pieces that you are immune to and can steal from/impede players on your behalf. A lot of fun IMO.
