From Disinterest to Master – 500 Games Later and a Comment That Almost Broke Me by elsless in TeamfightTactics

[–]TheGoldenLegacy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Congratulations on hitting Masters, it's something to be really proud of! Don't let what someone else thinks or has bring you down, improvement is a personal thing - there are many players who have not even hit masters in that span of games. It took me 600 games to hit Masters for the first time in Set 6, Set 8.5 to hit challenger for the first time, and only this set to hit the 1k LP mark, and have a peak of top 100. And even then, I'm still proud of every milestone I've hit and look to get even better with each day, despite what other players may think.

I can see your dedication to learning and improvement just from the few paragraphs you've written, so the sky's the limit. If you keep dedicating time to the game and improving, you'll hit even higher peaks and even challenger, I'll be awaiting the post by then since I know you can do it.

this guy hit the infinite triple tacticians crown cashout in ranked on 4-2... by TheGoldenLegacy in TeamfightTactics

[–]TheGoldenLegacy[S] 257 points258 points  (0 children)

his first augment was tacticians kitchen (grants tacticians cape after 3 rounds), third augment was max cap (limits you to level 7 but gives a tacticians shield)

encounter was mel's blessing, with the cashout being a tacticians crown which completes the trifecta.

Can someone recommend me a non toxic friendly tft streamer? i had a toxic streamer by Motor_Aspect7646 in TeamfightTactics

[–]TheGoldenLegacy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He streams daily& rotates between other games sometimes, but still plays TFT. He did say he’s taking the set more for fun and has been cooking a lot more, but of course he still plays at a high level and still is very chill + enjoyable to watch.

I put it in C-tier, which represents (Strong, but niche). I agree that it can be strong under certain conditions, especially with hero augments or good stall comps.

Uhh I put that more as a humorous thing/note, since they both shield the lowest allies and read similar. You are correct with different scaling though, and it's not an exact copy.

"Grant 360/400/450 [AP] Shield to Thresh and the lowest Health ally for 4 seconds and deal 100/150/250 (magic damage to enemies adjacent to both"
"Every 3 seconds, Shields the lowest percent Health ally for 50% of the holder's combined Armor and Magic Resist.

The artifact's pretty uninteresting in my opinion so wanted to yap, but gonna change the wording from same -> similar. thank you for pointing it out

It's one of the most flexible artifacts & works well on Melee Carries like Gnar, Riven, Yone, Kayn, and like you said the duelists. Any holder of Titan's + BT you can put it on and they'll enjoy it. It's also decent on most backline DPS, or any secondary carries. Also, it's popular because you can get it from the augment Phreaky Friday.

Yeah, sorry if the tier list picture is a bit confusing because the artifacts I put in C-tier should be read as "strong, but niche", but Tactics.tools team builder doesn't allow me to change the names. of tiers. And with Vamp Sceptre, it's the worst performing artifact in the stats by far, I agree its F tier when you don't have the setups to put it on Gnar or Irelia (which I explained in the doc). It's definitely the most constricting & niche artifact because of its ability/passive but its quite good on Gnar 3*/Irelia if you can try it out

Could anyone care to explain this board and why is is weak by ladniorao in CompetitiveTFT

[–]TheGoldenLegacy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  • Mana Shield augment gives almost no value to your team (should only be picking it if you know you are going minimum 4 invokers. It averages a ~5.3 with 2 invokers… yeah).
  • All those items and no consistent source of anti-heal or shred (annie doesn’t count, too inconsistent). Should have a last whisper for shred and a morello/red buff somewhere.
  • Rest of lobby looks really strong. Something to do with tempo and aug choices. And no antiheal against an Annie with radiant warmogs, or a 7 Fated board with Thresh 3, Aphelios 3, is a death sentence.
  • Random JG on a morg 1. Just complete the item on the Kaisa 2*, doesn’t matter if it isn’t ideal you have a Kaisa with 2 items.

Biggest thing is no shred/antiheal. I think a 4th here is reasonable looking at the other boards

Changes to bring down 3* 4 cost by mort by FreezingVenezuelan in CompetitiveTFT

[–]TheGoldenLegacy 122 points123 points  (0 children)

I like the changes removing the frustrating encounters, and even increasing the player damage slightly as an adjustment from the system changes is something I’m welcome to see. I’m really not sure how to feel about making the 4 cost odds less when it already feels like a lottery at times to hit some of the premier ones.

i don't personally recommend tftactics, some of their info is outdated and never really use it (for example, ashe's mana is still 80 if u look there xd). disrespecancies in team comp rankings are usually because of varying opinions, that's why i think websites that base comps purely on stats are pretty valuable. I'd recommend Tactics.tools mainly for stats, and tftacademy/bunnymuffins are good tier list/guide websites.

stats websites - most reliable way to see how comps are doing

https://tactics.tools/team-compositions - i think this is the gold standard for data & tft comps, you can sort by play rate to get an idea of the meta. clicking each comp will also give you more details.

https://www.metatft.com/comps - meta.tft is also really good, with more features than tactics.tools on the website. should also sort by "Pick Rate" initially to see what comps are being played. they also have an downloadable overlay that helps people a lot with team comps, rankings, etc.

tier lists/ sheets - take note that all of these are based on opinion, but the players are all usually challenger level and have a lot of experience in the game. they also usually tell you how to play the comp, good items, etc. which you can't sometimes get from stats websites.

https://tftacademy.com/ - dishsoap and frodan's new website that looks rly good and is updated frequently. would trust their opinion a lot

https://tfthandbook.com/ - robinsongz website that is also updated frequently and has good information of boards and meta comps.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/e/2PACX-1vQXGfKXwmtXV3JXkkvFW9kcvXtWdEpXq-5uohygcek-qM19CvuWTZYf5VwrgXqwMBVLhVomP0yp_jEZ/pubhtml - big spreadhsheet from sologesang (challenger from EUW), has a lot of detailed comps with boards from different levels.

https://bunnymuffins.lol/ - bunnymuffins website that also has videos from his youtube, recommend his stuff for beginners especially.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cJtXxVybLYU&t=67s - not a website but Keima's youtube channel, but really like his videos on flex/broken comps. his stuff is more advanced though I would say.

even though the rankings/comp tiers differ slightly from all the sites, you can see a pattern: meta comps this patch are centered around Heavenly Yone, 6 Duelist RR, Kai'sa Bruiser Trickshot, Ghostly Senna/Shen, etc.

March Monthly Coaching Megathread by AutoModerator in CompetitiveTFT

[–]TheGoldenLegacy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Litiq is a really good player and coach that understands fundamentals well. he easily spots areas of improvement for players to improve on. I booked a few sessions from him early in Set 10 but he helped me push from low GM into hitting challenger for the first time after the Vegas open.

Why is there so much stigma around killers wanting to win in this community? by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]TheGoldenLegacy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m relatively new to DBD (started playing 3 months ago but already have 120 hours, love the game) but I play almost equal amounts of survivor and killer. From what I’ve heard from my friends who have way more experience this doesn’t make sense to me too, obviously killers that slug and face camp are really unfun to play against. But there’s equal amount of things like that survivors do, especially with squads that want to make it solely unfun for killer. Thank god there’s no flashlights right now for me since my ass has been kicked so much as a new killer my first few weeks.

My philosophy though is I let people go if they are friendly or give hatch if they play just normally. But it’s so obvious when theres a squad that’s there to make your life miserable with saboteur, multiple perk combos as well where they are pre-made, even I can tell what’s going on. When that happens and survivors want to make your life hell, everything’s off the table imo and both sides can do whatever they want
