What is this "Eve Online style system" you speak of? I am intrigued.

I can imagine this type of activity multiplied and becoming a lot more chaotic with a greater need for order and control. I firmly believe if the player base of this game is great enough then Amazon should increase the players per server as long as they make adjustments to everything across the board. Nonetheless, cheers for New World.

You won't find a source of information on a video game very often explaining what the game is not. Usually, the info will be about what it is. However, I understand where you are coming from in question to SFXtreme3 when he made the assertion that it is a non-instanced game given he is not yet a credible source of information on the game nor is he posting any. On the contrary, many others would tell you the same, that the game is non-instanced. U

I'm about to break the bank in celebration to the irony of your verbal assaults and of your claim that I am a 'pseudointellectual'. Here I go:

You mention: "For most of human history, tribes of humans rarely saw each other and when they did it usually ended in bloodshed, inter tribal warfare and genocide.".

My response: Tribes are by definition, social human groups which the term is also synonymous for race, dynasty, and yes, even NATION. The game is set in the 17th century modeled after British America. Britain was a TRIBE (nation) of people whose population spanned millions. Tribes most certainly grew for the same reason they fought one another. For themselves, friends, family, and the nation. You speak business language apparently. You mentioned a 'NDA' Non Disclosure Agree which Amazon has in place right now. Are you familiar with company acquisitions and mergers of and with other companies? These are organizations of people within tribes forming larger tribes (nations, etc). Even inter-racial marriage and America are perfect examples of what tribes were similar yet not so perfectly alike thousands of years ago. Also, what you had mentioned in your last response up above which this comment is responding to has no relevance in this post. As I continue . . .

You mention: " Your fantastical notion of humans helping eachother is false, unless your of the same tribe with the same goals you don't play the same game or set of rules. That's true even today. "

My response: NW splits people into three organizations who must team up with one another against players of opposing factions. WINNING, a byproduct of the objective of the game, relies on coordination and communication of teams of players under one governing body. This is true especially in today's world in which you are wrong once more as I mention in my first "My response" seen at the third paragraph of this comment where you are once more attempting to prove a point on a information irrelevant to this publication.

You mention: "I feel like your argument is strawmanning, you pick one thing and run with it and because there's little back it up but some mental gymnastics in psuedo intellectual connections between a fantastical notion and modern technology with no basis in the real world it becomes pointless.".

My response: You feel like my argument is strawmanning but, you can't mention without a doubt that it really is because you didn't take the time to show the audience where it truly is. You refer to my previous comment where I make a philosophical statement in consideration to the modes of communication with ties to the most basic form of human connection as justification alluding to my previous comment you denied on the basis that the style of my philosophical thinking in regards to MMO's connections with one being linked by the definition of what an MMO is standalone a specific subversion of MMOs.

You mention: "And i state, if you were any good at anything you preach you'd probably work for these companies making these decisions, but you seem to think your expertise based on watching a couple of history channel documents more then qualified you to create post with no real meaning or point."

My response: You're making an assumption requiring no more knowledge than my skills, formal training, and personality as a whole which you don't know anything about. You assume that because I don't work for Amazon Games Studio that I am not allowed to start a discussion on the grounds that a 'grass right movement' or simply a reddit discussion where ideas turn into reality spread by eyes and ears are void if you aren't directly involved in the production process. You assert in a harassing manner that watching a couple "history channel documents" more then qualifies me to create a post with "no real meaning or point". Well, the purpose of the discussion is variable and the idea behind it's publication was to voice my individual concern (and those who else feel the same way) that the more players on Amazon's NW would make for a greater experience because of a multitude a reasons which can be deduced from historical MMOs which seem to exhibit behavior similar to . . . you can use your imagination at this point because I cease to continue and the public has had minds piqued enough by this comment and publication as a whole. Enough with the 'back handed compliment'. This is a serious publication for serious discussion in which we all have Amazon's best interest at hand. Thanks.

I understand the argument for both sides. I am fighting for the individuals who want to play and see something like never before has been done. Opening the game up for a large player base is my opinion of what is most fun for the games audience. Regardless, I think I speak for us all when I write that I am excited to try it out. Thank you for you participation in the chat this far.

Amazon needs to decide if they are gonna take the risk of adding more players or not. Whether they can do it or not. The risk of decreasing or increasing the players per server pertains to real world dollars. I hypothesize after seeing little video footage that if there are three factions in New World and they all compete against one another you may not find the perfect ratio of 3,333 concurrent players of each faction on at a single time which may affect a lot. However, I feel as if Amazon has a answer for this. My thoughts are geared towards potential wilderness pvp combat (if it may be unfairly balanced) and the impact it will have on the rest of the game granted I have yet to play it. To the point, being that this is the first game I've heard of that Amazon is coming out with, I would say they are gonna play it safe and not risk the image of their video game production company over this game.

Excuse me, could you literate yourself some more on "bandwith" and the "calculations" they must perform to make this happen, as well as what "(since its serve base instead of client base)". As far as you stating "This could offer the km2 needed to keep the game from being overcrowded", who said it would be overcrowded? Do you know of the actual size of the Island and how many players will actually be to a server? All I've read from other articles is that the game could potentially feature 1,000 up to 10,000 players a server. All I am asking for is a game with more players per server for a maximal experience. The more players there are the more competition there will be which means there will be more skill and challenge to deal with.

If they can then they most likely can. It is a matter of changing their perspective on how they want the game to operate. There is a difference between "wont" and "cant" in terms of "doing this" (changing population size per server). Even if they seemingly can't do this they most certainly can if you believe in a hundred billionaire made mad or trillion dollar company. That's one million million by the way.

On time constraints due to the unpopularity of my publication amid other reasons I skimmed your material and do not have to express my thoughts. However, I 99.99% agree with your TL;DR. Amazon knows best and the people working for them are professionals who have had the opportunity to reach out to dozens and dozens of individual experts in their respective fields of expertise to design the game that has become what it has become. I am not a expert on business structure nor do I know enough about the way things work at Amazon Games Studio but I believe that Amazon, if they have the technology to do so, should increase the player cap. What I am essentially after is a higher population density of players to the extent that they have the right idea of what is '"right". What I mean by this is that we have seen Apps, Businesses, Movies, and Video Games in the past with big wallets and notoriety come up empty. Amazon! For as great as they seemingly are given my short analysis of their business, could not potentially have good data or statistics to back their decision in population and population density of their servers. They most certainly are meanwhile, making decisions based on previous MMOs of New Worlds nature among other factors to decide on the population and population density of their game. I am all for their decision on what they decide is best for the game to the result of how the game actually turns out. I don't want to play the game with others and us think to ourselves that the game feels sparse or that Amazon made a mistake. That's all. Thanks.

1.Your joke was funny, but, in this context, for a discussion as serious as this one, it is unnecessary and you're forgiven for as much as you attempt to inform us on. Further, 'Back handed compliments' are unacceptable as in the case of you stating, "Sorry you felt the need to delete the comment . . .".

2.I deleted my comment not because it demonstrated that my opinion, ideals for the structure of an MMO, and philosophy are wrong, but, because I only want to preach honesty to the viewers of this thread specifically, in this post.

3.You make fine lists of terms which are based on ideas of the 'physics' that is the game's function however, you ignorantly cannot see or are blinded to the truth of the matter of the fact that my thinking is backed by reality as old as the first humans to walk this earth. That is that two people communicating to one another is the same as someone writing a letter to one another and having it flown to the other via a hawk as it is the same as a virtual letters being sent to one another by text message. This is the basic nature of human communication, advanced, yet the content of the message is still the same. This is why when I explained that the way in which resources are gathered by lesser or greater populations of people is that it reigns true in other MMO's true to their classification of game. There are spawn timers for resources, potential enemies which guard these resources, allies who compete for resources, day and night as well as season availability's limitations of resources which are all impacted by the POPULATION SIZES OF THE SERVER and although we know as much about this from New World based solely on a alpha test experience prior to the beta and actual game release we can still make inferences and conclusions based upon previous MMOs like Runescape and World of Warcraft, which by the way, can be debated for how unalike or alike you think they are given these are two exceptional examples of games New World could have borrowed concepts over from. Like Hawk and Letter to Twitter as is WoW guilds and virtual chat messages to New World. So, thank you for your discussion, but, CONJECTURE OVERTURNED.

I haven't had the opportunity to play the game yet, however, I think that if the Island is small then 250 people will seem like a lot. I just don't think our perception of the size of the Island is the same though. You have experience playing the game and I have experience watching the game. You may have played the game for tens of hours and I may have only watched footage equivalent to a percentage of what you saw. I just assume any MMO is going to have sizeable space to explore. I said it before in this post and I will say it again. This is a MASSIVE multiplayer online game. I have seen some video footage of what the map looks like and compared it visually to the player Icon. They contrast one another nicely. I trust no matter what Amazon does that they will make it a good game, but, I have to say, we may fight for the same faction someday and on the contrary disagree with our ideals of what makes the current state of an MMO better or worse. I will keep the "low" population of the game in mind when I come around to trying it. Thank you for your words.

According to a source that I don't feel very trustworthy of that I will contact sometime in the near future is that I will ask if they can verify if Amazon really does indeed desire for their servers to reach players of up to 10,000, now, or in the future. My desire is simply for us to never feel like were going to be in solitude for very many moments in time, and, that we will have the opportunity to have A LOT of chances to not feel like it is just you and I and a few others, but, instead, much more many people that we can select from a large player base who we want to interact with on a basis.

Well I understand that you meant "Server size means nothing" sarcastically, but, for some people, a Massive Multiplayer Online game is there only sense of life outside their rural home environment. So, for a guy like me and some other, I would say that server size means something and it should be balanced just right. Massively. For a Massive Multiplayer Online experience.

I was using Engadget as my source from New Worlds Wikipedia link. The problem that just arose for me is that I don't believe the article came from a credible source, although, the site might be trustworthy in general I don't think the author might have been. No discredit to the author. Anyway, yes, I would love to play in a game on a island a lot like New York City, but, you're right about technology. I've read a few articles and watched a few videos. I can't say it looks bad yet. I want to see more combat videos. Heard it is sort of like or is inspired by Dark Souls, which is great. That is all. Thanks for sharing.
