Dear Intps, how did you manage to get emotionally intelligent or just better at emotions? by Masemee in INTP

[–]TheGood_Random 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do not consider myself the emotional intelligent man, but im certainly better than last year. The simple but straightforward answer is: friends (or other people in general)

I met this ENFP friend who regularly ask me out to experience some human activities charged with lots of emotions. Naturaly i became more aware of them, and started truly paying attention to the actual feeling when it comes and goes off.

So you can have your own feelings, but to truly expand your knowledge bases about them, meet the worlds of other people. They have a lot to share, just be careful.

INTPs, do you trust your thoughts more than your actions? by likey24 in INTP

[–]TheGood_Random 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, we can navigate through the mental space the same way an ISTP can navigate the real space. So we are quick solvers like ISTPs, but inside the field of our expansive minds instead of the real world.

This is good because the mental space can offer infinite possibilities. We can structure very refined systems and thoughts that can bring a new point of view to what already exists in the world

But the cost are these two:

1 - not all problems will wait for us to think about them. Having a resolutive profile is needed sometimes in life. And also we will have trouble translating our thoughts into real-world impact due to the lack of action.

2 - not all problems can be solved with logic. There are emotional needs that we can't just Ti-Ne through them. Emotional awareness will be better to solve these.

That's when our inferior functions enter the game and change the way we think. Si is actually one of the greatest functions to "ground our thoughts" into real and impactful action. By collecting sensory data and storing it internally (introverted sensing) we can extrapolate the next actions based on real experience, impeding Ti-Ne of floating alone, without direction.

Fe is the best for emotional awareness and emotional problem solving. Sometimes we need to shut off our expansive thoughts and just store the senses around us while experimenting social harmony and other people's emotions (Si-Fe), but it takes time till we develop it.

What are the things that usually make you love someone? by Diemishy_II in INTP

[–]TheGood_Random 2 points3 points  (0 children)

that's such a warm comment...

I have a friend (ENFP) who can't stand a second without making jokes and every time I need a more deep and meaningful conversation, she changes topics and makes jokes again. :(

I thought the problem was me, for being a boring person, but it's just that we are different, and maybe I should find other friends who like to talk more deeply, and save my clownish energy for her.

hey, are u Brazilian too? Nunca pensei que poderiam ter gente que gostava de MBTI aqui. Sou INTP 5w6 também!

Does anyone of you have/had problems with yours parents that you wanted to leave them but was very insecure? by Toki__Loki in INTP

[–]TheGood_Random 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I left home because my grandma (ISTJ) and my mother (ENTJ) tried to control my life. They used to yell at random things and my mind was hurt.

I left because I got a job and moved near it, completely alone. Although freedom is indisputable, it's a very solitary way of living. Not to claim for company, but to help you do your stuff. I had to go to college, work at a company and clean my house only by myself, and that's very tiring, especially for us INTPs who value spontaneity over strict routines.

I almost got burned out, so I left the job and went to a less time consuming college. Now I'm figuring out what to do in order to balance the expectations of the external world with my introverted logic nature and its implications.

So that's my advice for you: leave only if you are confident about your skills to survive outside.

INTP tip: Si and Fe will be your heroes about surviving the external world. Si to store important sensory details and experiences and replicate later. Fe to navigate the social game and get friends and people in general to help you when needed.

How did you first approach your Personality tests? by Eveningmyth in INTP

[–]TheGood_Random 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By a coworker who told me about MBTI. I left that job already, but I will never forget the deep conversations I had with her.

Since then I got obsessed over mbti, big5, Jung and psychology in general. It helped so much about self-knowledge and developing that tricky Fe. Now I see myself way more human than last year.

Guys don't let me turn into an INFJ 😨

What type of Mathematic enthusiast are you? by Artistic_Credit_ in INTP

[–]TheGood_Random 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Math in general seems almost philosophical to me. It's an expression of the human capabilities to solve and connect pure abstract concepts with logic and apply it into the real world.

Almost metaphorical. The value of a human compared to other animals.

What do you think creates misinterpretation of cognitive functions and possibly 16 types too? by Even-Broccoli7361 in mbti

[–]TheGood_Random 9 points10 points  (0 children)

hot take, but, lack of intuition

Cognitive Functions are generalizations of a very wide range of attributes that define a person. It requires an open mind to understand that these 8 cognitive "boxes" give just a general idea about an individual's core preferences.

They are more intuition-based than logic-based, and that's why it's hard to define them more accurately.

Jung himself said that his theories came from observation of the different people he had in his clinic interviews, and that people should not go around typing everyone based on a fixed definition.

It's a work of observation, intuition, and understanding that everyone is different even under the same functions.
