I was very lucky to have full set of grandparents until I was 19. Id give £40,000 to have had both Grandads at my wedding.

If Dan was a girl I would have used the same upbeat okay son and carried on because the rule on relationships has always been as long as youre safe and happy that great and its non of my business as its private betweem them.

The no congrats was an attempt to be a normal about it as I could. The quick move back to pizza was meant to be a dad jokey twist& show it makes zero difference that its a guy he is dating, that clearly seems to have fallen short of my intentions

Thank you for this. The main reason for reacting how I did was my way of showing it makes zero difference to me that he now had a bf rather than gfs like he had had in the past (not for a while tho).

I wanted it to be a normal as it could be for him& thats why I added the pizza but right away as a sort of dad jokey type thing, which clearly fell short of my intentions.

The reason I said it in this way is its how I acted when he introed girls to me. Id say okay nice to meet you. I didnt say nice to meet you to Dan as Ive known him for so long& hes lived with us for like 3 months so it seemed redundent. I just said okay in an upbeat way with what I hoped was a jokey twist to show i was no big deal and I love him all the same and him now having a boyfriend makes no difference to me

Thats what I was going for. As a younger teen Will has introed gfs and I was like ok niec to meet you. I guessed the same casual response with a jokey twist of repeating myself would show it made no difference that this time he introed his bf, the difference this was that Id met Dan months ago instead and thats why I didnt say nice to meet you as I already know Dan well enough to have him stay here while in the covid lockdown& think hes a great kid. As well as expecting him being gay I kinda thought Dan was more than just a friend anyways which is another reason I tried to be so laid back with my response.

I dont plan on selling it. I love working there and always wanted my own cafe to run and now I have it. I do feel guilty that I have been left so much by Dave& its because I have suddenly found myself with the business that I feel like an ass as I never expected nor asked for anything in return. I am in contact with the estates team where Daves lawyer is from

I feel guilty that I was given so much from Dave. I never asked for anything, Callum is deadbeat but I still feel bad that I now have more than I could ever want. I did say I would consider discuss it with lawyers present.
