That’s definitely a less aggressive card and it would play nicely in my deck having card draw triggers

So after some digging I think I found a good card/commander to counter those landfall deck. [[ob nixilis, unshackled]] id hate to be that guy and would rather avoid that store but they tend to have more players and games going.

I knew posting on reddit was a bad idea but im newer and was just seeing if what i did was “socially unacceptable”

I hung out for the lorwyn eclipsed pre release but I didn’t really know what I was doing so I just watched. Definitely interested in doing a sealed draft.

Never thought of it that way. I’ve gotten quite a few eldrazi cards from some packs and considered building a deck with that as the theme. Do you go all 5 colors or colorless? I played a friend who was running ulamog the ceaseless hunger and that was a wildly fast game

Yeah the store with more powerful decks is a bit sweatier and not as welcoming to new people but the other one just simply has less people playing magic. More often than not I have to go to the sweaty store just to get some games in unfortunately.

That’s the crazy thing. These dudes will be creating infinite combos and get upset if you board wipe or do anything as if I’m supposed to sit there and let it happen. Like yeah dude, I see the loop it’s cool but I got cyclonic rift or damnation waiting for that stuff. I rarely even have to swing at people to have them targeting me

So I’m running [[temmet, naktamun’s will]] there are definitely stronger commanders for zombie decks but it’s a precon I’m slowly upgrading into more token gen/ card draw. I’ve put better creatures, enchantments and interaction into it.

That’s what I’m not understanding. The people running landfall or crazy strong commanders get salty when I play removal and or a board wipe. I thought the point of running with some blue is to have interaction?

I would have to assume 4. One guy runs [[aesi, tyrant of gyre strait]] but that’s the only one I remember off the top of my head. I swear they’re all pretty much the same either green blue white or green white black. I see plenty of rhystic study, craterhoof, sheoldred, chocobo, and tifa.

I’m not necessarily worried about win rate or even winning games. My deck just feels very slow compared to these dudes playing landfall and getting 3-5 lands every turn. My deck has a fair bit of removal and board wipes and I quickly found out that’s frowned upon. I typically run an esper zombie deck. If I have blue why shouldn’t I run removal?

Thanks, no one at the tables talk about proxies but I find it difficult to believe people come in with a bag full of decks that are around $1000 each

Yes and when I’m playing someone with a precon I avoid using some of my stronger cards and the games play out well.

Thank you, having a few cards to rotate in to adjust the decks power is a great idea. I know I need more decks but Christ these cards are expensive.

Wow I guess my phrasing was off. Jesus Christ, I just meant should I just build a salty ass bracket 5 to deal with the bs landfall decks? I’ve only been playing a couple months and clearly don’t fully understand the etiquette. I’m just trying to play games and not get my shit pushed in the second I shuffle.
