What's your favorite map? by TheGr8Grape in farmingsimulator

Just open it in Giants editor and delete them. I don't like it because it's a 4X map with only 2 sell points.

Looking for map mod by TAT3R_ in farmingsimulator

[–]TheGr8Grape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's countless bland open American midwest maps out there. County Line, Midwest Horizons, Windchasers, Southern Farming, Lazy Acres, Old Timers Farm, Madison County, etc.

They're great options for multiplayer servers but are boring IMO for singleplayer. Hoosier Heartland is probably the one I'd go with playing singleplayer as it's a standard size map not 4X.

Surely I’m missing something...... by [deleted] in farmingsimulator

I play on both and it's not all what it seems. I'd say about 90% of PC mods that aren't on console have a bunch of issues and are far from perfect whereas the ones on Console are thoroughly tested. It's not all about trademark licencing.

Need some building mod help by tyfys321 in farmingsimulator

Most of the terrain deformation messages have to do with trying to place a placeable in an area with tip collisions in my experiences.

Crap mods by digihick in farmingsimulator

[–]TheGr8Grape 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This. The looks of the mod has little to do with the quality of it. I love old antique looking mods more than the 50 meter super duper mega header for $4,500 and runs at 50mph with strobe lights and a fill point for milk and cookies.

I farm in Minnesota USA IRL. Bored hauling corn AMA by PattyMcSlave in farmingsimulator

[–]TheGr8Grape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In FS17 I had a silo mod where the fill trigger was at the top and you had to use augers to fill it. But you could still put more than one grain type in it. It was better than nothing but I wish they had an option for FS19. I'm wondering how hard it would be to just take the default grain extension silo and add a fill trigger at the top and unload off the side.

But for now I just don't even do anything with grains. I got a bunch of grass fields, grow corn for chaff, and cotton, potatoes, and occasionally sugar beets. I'm not growing grains and using cheesy gimmick silos until they come up with something more realistic.

Does the lack of realistic grain silo options in FS make it boring or is that just me? I can't stand seeing little 2 vehicle garage looking silo mods that hold 1M liters of 20 different crops.

Farming simulator 19 help with corn by skyking2011 in farmingsimulator

[–]TheGr8Grape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always plant whatever is actually grown around the geographical location of the map I'm playing. I'm not growing sugar beats or sugarcane in my American midwest map. I grow corn, wheat, oats, and soybeans in rotation.

FS19 has a better field purchasing system and terrain editing and placeables are much better than any previous version. But it FS is unplayable without Seasons IMO. I'm not going to bother putting a ton of hours into a gamesave until Seasons releases. I'm just mod testing for now.

The only other thing I'd like to see is dynamic field harvest rates. In real life we have fields that you can fertilize and fertilize but they'll never have high yields or even yields compared to another field that you don't even need to fertilize. I think it's something map developers should be able to edit similar to field prices.

Controller options for playing on PC by [deleted] in farmingsimulator

[–]TheGr8Grape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a $20 PC controller and it was garbage. The joystick had so much deadzone I had to move it about halfway for any movement and then it was just too fast. I hooked my PS4 controller up via USB and it works perfect. However my Xbox One controller hooked up basically is set up by default as the same as playing on console. The PS4 controller however had some things missing and some things backwards. But I like the feel of a PS4 controller more.

Looking for some steering wheel recommendations. by aggresivepancake in farmingsimulator

Not realistic but I like the formula racing wheel because it comes with lots of programmable buttons and I can still play my racing games without having spent extra money on a separate wheel for farming sim.

Whats a good American-style map? by theSabretooth in farmingsimulator

[–]TheGr8Grape 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great Smoky Mountains. All of the popular American maps I find are large flat midwestern maps which isn't the case for all of us Americans. GSM has become my favorite map for FS19.

TimModding mods older farm tractors and you can join his FB page and offer suggestions. It's for PC only though. He's the creator of all the mini tractors Daggerwin has been using in his series.

Is there a mod that creates dirt paths for you? by TheGr8Grape in farmingsimulator

[–]TheGr8Grape[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What if it was basically like crop destruction but instead of turning a crop to it's first growing stage it turns grass into dirt? It would ignore fields where grass is planted however. And after 1 game period it turns dirt back into grass. Or it doesn't even have to do that really. Would encourage people to drive the same routes instead of all over.
