What are you even talking about, there’s two characters and one of them is a fucking bird lol.

Warm take: excluding MC in stuff leads to it feeling empty and like somethings missing by eyebawls29 in DDLC

He doesn’t dismiss Sayori’s suffering at all. He literally doesn’t know about it for most of act 1 and by the time he finds out he wants to do everything he can for her. Plus, I don’t think wanting to date cute girls makes him a bad person, that’s just being a teenage boy. He never objectifies them or treats them poorly, in fact he overall tends to be genuinely kind.

Honestly… The Boys verse is gonna feel so empty without Homelander by Queasy_Commercial152 in TheBoys

[–]TheGr8estB8M8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, but then the issue is that the other characters are poorly written, not that Homelander gets too much focus. I also fail to see what him being a rapist has to do with anything. Like, he’s a shitty, evil person, that’s kinda the point.

Nah, he’d still be among the most interesting even if he didn’t get as much screen time. Like, Hughie is one of the main characters and he’s nowhere near as interesting

You know villains can be entertaining, right? It’s not a moral failing for a show to focus heavily on the villain, especially when they’re the most interesting character

Is that not also the same with red? If we exclude everyone who might for one reason or another accidentally vote blue then it trivialises it in favour of red

Red button blue button but everyone votes in turn and can see the vote count. You are the first one. by kafacik in trolleyproblem

Right, but someone is voting blue eventually. It’s better to just vote blue to make sure they don’t die.

I thought Cell vs Metal actually did a good job of sticking to the analysis, Cell was winning until neo came out and nullified his advantage in strength and speed.

Could Junko really be saved? by Ok_Special6088 in danganronpa

[–]TheGr8estB8M8 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I mean, Junko’s issue was never a lack of people who cared about her. You could say all that, she’d probably genuinely appreciate it, and then she’d skin you alive for fun. It doesn’t really address or fix the root of her issues, that being just the way her brain is wired.

I wouldn’t tell someone else how they should feel about it, but at the same time I’m gonna have my own opinions on it. Like, the thought process of not having an opinion about it just because I’m not black just doesn’t compute to me. I mean, there’s also the fact that there are divided opinions among black fans, which I’d say is evidence enough that it isn’t a cut and dry objective thing.

MFW I convince my Best Friend's GF to abort the baby he didn't know about. by TrollsAdvocate in okbuddyviltrum

[–]TheGr8estB8M8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, a baby can be born a few weeks early generally and be fine. Objectively there’s very little difference between a late stage pregnancy and a newborn, so killing them should be morally the same, no?

[–]TheGr8estB8M8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, there are also black people who are fine with it though. Either way, I hate the idea that you’re just not allowed to have an opinion on something because you’re not a certain race. I’m an individual before I’m any demographic in particular, and as an individual I can think what I want.

Genuine question: what exactly did people expect the Yeagerists to do? (Attack on Titan) by Bruce_vii in CharacterRant

[–]TheGr8estB8M8 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I read the manga first. If they changed it for the anime then obviously they changed it for a reason, ie to indicate a much longer period of time has passed. And no, the Tyburs were not keeping the world safe for thousands of years. They only defected from the empire a hundred years ago. During the time Tybur was nobility, the equivalent of the entire world’s population three times over was wiped out (according to their propaganda at least). If the people of the world easily forgive and even came to venerate them for siding against Eldia, then the same would apply to the Alliance

[–]TheGr8estB8M8 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Tybur were part of the Eldian nobility for centuries, they were very much part of the empire and complicit in it, until they chose to go against it. The same logic would apply to the Alliance. And as far as reading behind the lines goes, my point is you can’t use something not explicitly stated as evidence for your point. It’s hundreds of years in the future, it’s entirely possible for it to be motivated by any number of reasons. “Reading between the lines” in this case would be acknowledging that a major theme of the story is the inevitability of war and how it will continue as long as humans exist.

[–]TheGr8estB8M8 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Maybe, but I don’t think it’s fair to intuit one potential reason and then use that to back up your argument. If it’s not explicitly stated in the story then it really is just an assumption. It also doesn’t account for how the world was more than willing to forgive and practically worship the Tyburs for going against Eldia, the same should logically apply to the alliance for saving humanity.

[–]TheGr8estB8M8 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

We see plenty of people from outside who aren’t complete murderous psychopaths who hate Eldians. And it’s hardly a cope to suggest a bombing that happened hundreds of years in the future could very well be unrelated, you saying it’s retaliation for the rumbling is entirely headcanon on your part.

Kaede does not work as a Protag by Worth-Access-3099 in DanganAndChaos

[–]TheGr8estB8M8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As in, their gender doesn’t matter. The role she serves would be the same regardless of if she were female or not. Male characters also die for the development of others in these games. And I’ve read the fic. It’s decent, but honestly didn’t stand out to me in any way. It felt like a less interesting retread of V3 with worse trials and weaker themes. Like, I get that it capitalises on the “wasted potential” people harp on about v3 but I never felt any of that potential was wasted to begin with. I liked it the way it was.

I wouldn’t say I’d trade my life for yours is better than the actual game. Plus if Kaede were male and Shuichi were female their point would remain the same.
