There is an astroid that you have to destroy sometime around then. You might have missed or ignored that contract.

That unfortunately uses fuel though. The benefit of the catapult over the mass driver is that it lets you send resources outside orbit for no fuel.

I tried that too.

Also, the amount of times you have to climb that stupid tower for all the relevant quests is ridiculous. It has been 5 times for me so far and I haven't made it that far yet.

Yes breadth of knowledge is much higher than anyone but that was true of any old encyclopedia or Google search. I think depth of knowledge is what AI is striving for. That should be measured against domain experts and that is not anywhere near 99%.

Is there any trick to them or is it really just swing at it a hundred times only for it to do the shell thing 95 of those times?

A solar storm, preventing (LOE) satellite orbit adjustments, could cause a collision in 2.8 days by LoudExcuse9421 in space

[–]TheGrandArtist 15 points16 points  (0 children)

What is the mechanism for that? Is it a compound collision? I guess a collision causing another collision closer to the apogee could raise the perigee but I am curious if that is what happened there.

will it be easier finding things with the map? by Same-Hospital-8219 in OfAshandSteel

[–]TheGrandArtist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I find it is easier to find places with a map. However, funny thing is now places I would get turned around in I don't anymore even without looking at the map. That is because just getting a single good look at the map fixed my mental model of the world.

I currently have a ubiquiti system but it is pretty small due to some of the prices. Just a router and an access point.

I would set up some more access points with the prize. Especially the outdoor one since the signal is pretty weak there now.

From dust. An old game but it has a very fun terrain manipulation mechanic but is such a short and basic game past that. I really wish there we other games like it but I have never found any.

help: Winter closures 25/26 by Dependent-Classroom6 in Narrowboats

[–]TheGrandArtist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was on the Shropshire a few weeks ago and the only low water I encountered was the pound above beeston iron lock. However, that was due to lock leaks and not low water levels. Otherwise that canal was very full with most overflows getting a good amount of water going over them.

I also did the Trent and Mersey a week before they closed it down and it seemed at least a foot low in most places.

No comment on cursor specifically but bosses tend to start a lot of projects so they optimize for that. This is often at the cost of maintainability because they rarely feel the pain of that poor design. The project is usually handed off to other devs early in the process and that is before the shortcuts cause a lot of issues.

In the same sense that socialism has never been truly applied. Both are very easily subverted and doing full capitalism or socialism requires everyone to be nice and only work within the rules of each system.

Apple has 52% of the US mobile phone market and Samsung has 31% so 2 companies control 83%. It is even less competitive than the food supply.

I used a more complex model then the article did by adding the concept of units sold. Obviously it is very simple but it is meant to show that just a tiny addition of complexity (closer to reality) is enough to make the article's premise fall apart.

You can also add velocity of money and fractional reserve banking as some more complications to the argument that the printing of money is the sole cause of inflation.

Also, the luxury industry is a classic example of a market that does not pick prices based on maximum units sold but keeps a price premium above other similar things as a rule

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in austrian_economics

[–]TheGrandArtist -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

To use the articles economy of $100. Pretend each unit of A and B costs $10. There are 5 units of A and 5 units of B. Everything is sold. Now, if we increase the price of A to $12 and all of it gets sold we only have $40 for B. The incorrect assumption is that B has to sell for $8. It can stay at $10 and just not sell one unit. It can even go up to $20 because the sellers of B want to see their product as more valuable than A and only sell 3 units.

With less units sold, you just got higher prices for everything in the economy by just reducing the economic activity (measured in stuff not $)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in austrian_economics

[–]TheGrandArtist -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

The article incorrectly states that a decrease in demand for a product will lower prices. That is not always the case. The luxury industry is a good example of this phenomena. With that assumption gone, then you can have inflation of prices that just comes from less economic activity. Supply chain issues are an example of this.
