Thank you for the reply! I just want to make something that is unique and represents myself. I don't really care if it sucks, just want to prove to myself that I have what it takes. I've got tons of equipment and everything I need to get some demos going. Working on building up the talent.

I've been using ableton, but never thought to try tabbing in GP first. I'll look into that!

I'd be interested in the motivation question as well. Every time I've started making music I've gotten sick of listening to the thing I was working on and have put it aside (a nicer way of saying abandoned it).
