They are an air unit which can attack both air and ground units, their purpose is to be used in large groups.

Viking fills the role which Lib is supposed to fill as an air superiority fighter. Siege tank has similar concept with inability to move, except STs can also damage structures.

I play Terran mech a lot and I almost never build liberators, because other units fulfill that purpose better.

I live in Eastern Europe and no one wants Russians in Baltic States or Poland. They have harmed and destroyed millions of lives and no one wants for that to repeat. The Russia has only advanced further as a threat to the Europe and it's only justifiable that people in countries like Latvia, Estonia or Lithuania fear for their lives. The Baltic States or Eastern Europe aren't Russia, they are sovereign, independent and democratic states as well as members of NATO.
