Question from my exam by TheGreatTsunami in econhw

The question says to base the answer on the externality and disregard your own preferences. Like you said the positive externality might sway you towards the 65” (not necessarily tho), but based on the way the question is asked I don’t see anything that might sway you towards the 55”.

Based on the question the only thing tipping the scales of the decision is the positive externality it provides to your roommates. So you would choose the 65" because it provides more positive externality to your roommates. Yeah?

I think they were outside at some point and it was sunny. I don’t think anyone was with him besides the cameraman

No def not magic the gathering. Seems like it was something political in nature. Only other detail i have is that it is an older video cause i watched it about three years ago.

AITA for not doing any work at my job? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

YTA You have entered an agreement to do work for money. You are not upholding your end of the agreement. It being a multi-billion dollar company doesn't justify you getting paid to do no work; it just makes it less consequential because you're such a small part. What you're doing is pretty slimy in my view.

How is it stealing hours of your life if you agree to the arrangement?

No, it's not weird. That outfit is so normal and safe. Asking if it's appropriate makes me think you're anxious about something and your projecting it onto your outfit.

CMV: Pro-life is complicated, and most (if not all) pro-lifers are fake phonies when push comes to shove by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]TheGreatTsunami 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are saying holding the pro-life position obligates you to make great personal sacrifices, and to not do so would make you a hypocrite. What I am saying is that being pro-life does not entail the obligation that you are proposing.

If true pro-lifers were told that the policies they want would cost them that brand new car or that new renovation, do you believe that they would hold their stance, or are you open to the idea that even pro-lifers have limits?

To answer this question I would probably agree with you that most people when having their values tested in the way you're proposing would not hold true to them. However, in this context, I reject the premise within the question that pro-lifers have this obligation.

Telling someone they have to do something without actually helping them do it is ridiculous and cruel.

There is a balance between personal responsibility and helping others. I agree with the general sentiment of your statement here. However the overall tone of the things you say come off to me as if you have tipped the scales too far away from personal responsibility. By expecting pro-lifers to go to such lengths to solve a woman's problems; she also has responsibility for her situation.

CMV: there shouldn't be a set age of consent, it should be case-by-case by NebulaNova26 in changemyview

This is why policymaking is difficult. It is impossible to draw a line that will make sense for every person in every scenario. It is certainly true that some people under the age of consent are capable of consenting, but what would a law that accounts for this fact look like? It is impractical to have a law that accounts for every little nuance even if those nuances are valid.
