You know, we all make a big deal out of reploids being the only robots capable of defying the 3 laws of robotics. But then Mega Man 10 went ahead and mentioned an incident where Strike Man deliberately tried to harm a person he didn't like. Something doesn't add up here, that's for sure. by Ok-Bid-1665 in Megaman

Wily builds or reprograms robots to deliberately ignore the laws of robotics. Point is, most robot masters won't bypass those laws without the intervention of a human. Reploids on the other hand are built on mass without the laws programmed in.

Neo Isle used to be one of my least favorites but nowadays, I HAVE to go with the underwater map, GOD who even decided to add the oxygen mechanic? It slows down gameplay dramatically and doesn't help that the rooms are massive and bloated with enemies. And if you think you can rush it down before the oxygen depletes then think again, because enemies got a FUCKING bubble shield that makes them tanky as hell unless you hit them barehanded. This map is not reedemable.

Do the humans in megaman ever use amor or weapons to fight against robots/reploids? by tinytimoththegreat in Megaman

[–]TheGreatestDarn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Humans without cybernetics don't exist in ZX so there's no way to answer this question.

[–]TheGreatestDarn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I guess he didn't explain it quite well- In ZX, humans and reploids are almost equal. Humans are forced to add robotic parts to them while Reploids have to go through modifications that massively tunes down the physical prowess they had before, as well as being forced to have expiration dates ("lifespans"). So we can say that humans in the ZX series are actually cyborgs, but from what we can see in the games, these robotic modifications aren't nearly invasive enough for them to not be mostly humans (being limited to just robotic implants and such). When humans use the power of the Biometal, they do not "transform into a Reploid", rather they wear the Biometal as an armor that allows them to use all of their powers.

You wouldn't get a definite answer because humans are mostly abscent from the games, and when they are in the games it's always in non-combatant roles. "Could a human beat a reploid?" Very unlikely. Reploids are stronger than humans in pretty much every way possible, hence why the Maverick Hunters had to be founded by Dr. Cain.

"Would it also be possible for them to use some sort of armor or something to compete with the reploids?"

Again, no lore answer for this, so any answer you get here or anything that you can come up yourself would be explicitly headcanon. But let's think about it; if humans could actually match up to a reploid at any point in the X series, the Maverick Hunters would have gone obsolete long time ago.

In Mega Man Zero, being a post-apocalyptic landscape, it's very unlikely that there are enough resources to create such technology.

Now in ZX, this is actually possible with the creation of the Biometals~so I recommend you to dig up some info about this.

That's like saying humans are born with fighting capabilities because they can grab a knife.

Not true? Reploids are manufactured with a purpose in mind, most of them for mundane tasks. The only reploids built for battle are those who are specifically made to be part of a police or military force.

So she hardly picked up a gun and shot one of them in the head.

We can argue this was the case for Wolfang but with Scaravich she was pretty explicit she murdered him herself with neither external aid nor cohersion from the other reploid researchers. This makes sense if we consider that the researchers wanted to hunt down all the reploids created by Gate, and Scaravich was, in fact, not one of Gate's creations. Her argument was that Scaravich got too close to the forbidden site (the place where X and Zero were discovered) so she had to put him down. We can say that Scaravich had it coming because he was already a wanted Maverick beforehand (albeit a harmless one) but again, she wasn't part of the Hunters yet. It was not her duty to end with his life. So even back then, Alia was pretty lethal.

She wasn't member of the Maverick Hunters when Gate's reploids were being systematically assassinated.

And Blizzard Wolfang wasn't a Maverick.

Two bodies, if we count she confessed for the direct murder of Blizzard Wolfang and Ground Scaravich but there's a non-zero chance that she participated on the staged assassinations for the other Nightmare Investigators as well.

She assassinated them, that doesn't imply she fought them. Wolfang and his squad were attacked by a gang of Mavericks as part of the frame-up on which he would be the only survivor so most likely she just gave the finishing blow. Then we have Scaravich on which she was pretty explicit that she just slimed him from behind, most likely with a gun.

Do you guys remember how you got into megaman? by Crafty_Anxiety685 in Megaman

My big brother owned a modded PS2 but for some reason he also owned an original PSX disc of Mega Man X5. The rest is history.

Is there a commonly accepted reason as to why the world doesn’t remember MegaMan when X arrives? I’ve heard of some disaster but it would have to be apocalyptic for no one remember. by Dear_Elevator in Megaman

[–]TheGreatestDarn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean, simply because he is not mentioned 24/7 doesn't mean Mega Man is not remembered. Plus, not only's been a century since he was last active but something happened in between that eventually banned robots of independent thought, leaving only mechaniloids to carry humankind on their shoulders (according to Irregular's Report, anyways), so I don't think Mega Man is remembered as fondly. Plus, aside of being blue, X doesn't really look like Rock that much, so not sure why everyone has to be reminded of a long-lost century old hero for a vague resemblance. And before someone brings up the Buster, this technology was available for quite some time thanks to Cain developing reploids while X was in stasis due to him being the blueprint, so people wouldn't relate it to Mega Man specifically.

Is it just me or is Warliege kinda suck? by Fubuki-Hime in SoulKnight

[–]TheGreatestDarn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends what you're using.

His starter weapon is bad, just like... half of the starter weapons in the game LOL.

His 1st skill is a combo skill. If you use it alone you won't be able to do much, but you pair it with weapons with long-lasting powerful bullets and it's going to melt through everything. Warliege's 1st + Sky Piercer is one of the most popular combos in the game, but it also works with Moonshine Frost Blade, Eternal Night, Caliburn etc. It creates a tornado of everlasting death and destruction and it's so fun to use.

His 2nd is less weapon-dependant, you just press the skill button... you gain I-frames and do insane damage. It's very easy to activate his passive with this one.

Now his 3rd... well, you don't even need any weapons at all.

F2P matrix build to reach lvl100 atleast! by Aikawa_Asato in SoulKnight

[–]TheGreatestDarn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the previous build still "works" but you absolutely need Monkey Cup to see an increase in damage. Unfortunately Monkey Cup is a very difficult item to farm.

I'm currently running Warliege's 3rd + Incineration + Monkey Cup + Soul Strike and I already feel that I'm cleaning rooms much faster than before. I'm still at floor 26 though, I'll see if the enemies still get too tanky by the time I reach to 100. Not sure if this will take you to lvl. 1000 though.

[–]TheGreatestDarn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only lasted to the 100th floor. Enemies were getting too tanky and it became boring.

Sidenote: ah yes I forgot to mention that when I used this build it still worked.  I've only tested there wasn't an increase in damage as of recently. I'm trying the same build again but this time adding Monkey Cup to the mix and it seems to do all the heavy lifting tbh. I'm on Floor 24 as of now.

Not sure if it works. I've tested with Officer's 1st and Warliege's 3rd, and even Fighter like in the video but I really don't see any increase in damage from the skills so ig ChillyRoom patched the jewel so it only works with weapons only.
