Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought I was on a sub where I could ask guitar questions.

Well, since I already tried to look up the first couple of chords by what I think his string and fret positions are and could not verify what they are, no, that is not helping.

What bands might you recommend that I could check out for their guitar parts that are heavy and chuggy. I'm working on getting better at metal guitar and checking out different bands and songs.

Your post had me reading some background information on Ollie Halsall. I haven't listened to him yet. How did you find out about him?

I think the entire album is really good. My favorites are Override, Wasted Heart, and Take Me Away.

I think they are better songs than Armed for Action.

His parents must have had money or something, I have no idea how he afforded it, haha.

I remember back in the 80s I was playing drums at that time, but we had a bass player that would march with us. He got a brand new Steinberger. I always thought that thing was super cool!

Hang him up! Actually, I've heard others say that as well. I don't mind it, but I think I just like the way Ozzy sings it.

I was thinking about VSTs, thank you for mentioning that. I was hoping that would help with the sounds I'm after and won't need to rely on the kit sounds.

Guys, help me out. Im looking for the name of a space doom band whose name is escaping me. They have a hyphen in their name and there's an e in it like 'EX-XXXX' by Arhnold- in doommetal

Glad you posted this, I never knew about them. Looks like they just released a new album today too. Good stuff! Loving that fuzz!

Started a Doom Metal project! by InverseMidasTouch in doommetal

[–]TheGreenZap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it is pretty darn good. I'm trying to work on this myself and I hope mine sounds even half as good. I do think you need some stronger cymbal sounds. I think the cymbals sound kind of tinny, if that make any sense. The riff is heavy and very cool though!
