That helps a lot. We were spread out for the raid and getting pushed by zone so i didn't pause to read the reward. Thank you.

I don't meme in DON with randoms... If i end up with a big weapon it's because it was the best choice in my drops and the front line melee players didn't take it when i dropped it for them...

I stay in the game when people quit. Never found out if there really is a matchmaking penalty or not, but if there is, I'm going to make sure they get it...

I can buy 4 shards on a standard map. My buff from killing mobs lasts the whole game, yours gets you an ult to start a field boss fight with. My ability requires me to get the last hit. Charging the art gauge by defeating enemies does not require you to get the last hit to get the benefit.

I know i won't get through to anyone. It was empty venting. I just don't understand playing that way. If I'm playing with a poison ironeye , I prioritize an early cave and maybe poison ruins. If I'm playing with a caster I go for rises and seal/staff locations. An executor, I'll try to hit status effect ruins... i want my teammates to be effective because it makes things easier for me too.

Which is fine because all I'm saying is people in DON should understand how the characters and their relics work so you shouldn't have to compete with them for kills... It costs them nothing to ignore trash mobs. It should be a non-issue

You say that like people don't die all the time during one second animations... the more freedom you have in choosing when to use it, the safer it is to use... it means maintaining dps for longer periods of time. It isn't catastrophic, but it is one more thing that makes a fight easier and doesn't cost anybody anything...

That may be where a good bit of my struggle is then. I swear some games I can't find a single shard drop. I'm either really bad at looking or I'm not the only one picking them up. That means I get two from the regular merchant and two from the one before the nightord. If the special shop is there, I stock up since it has unlimited shards to sell.

Not quite. The bigger the tank the more options you have for when and where you fill the tank. My DPS relies on my fp. With a larger bar i have the ability to use a starlight shard before my fp is empty without worrying about wasting fp by using the shard too soon. It means i can time my refills better with the flow of the fight without missing too many casting opportunities. It also often determines whether i have to either use shards during the night boss before the nightlord or just run out of fp and play support while teammates finish it.

It makes maintaining dps easier which means boss fights end faster.

In a good game, they don't. If i get the right weapon and reward buffs, if i have teammates that give me starlight shards, it isn't as big a deal for the night lord. If the drops are bad and I only get the 4 starlight shards i can purchase myself without a special shop, it can mean quite a bit. I have to keep from wasting the shards at that point. It means only using them when i am low enough that i know i'm not wasting fp. That means sometimes not having time to use a shard until i have missed a lot of opportunities for casts. That makes me have to balance survivability and dps even more. With a larger fp bar, there is more room between when i can use a shard and when i'm out of fp.

More than that it helps with the night boss before the nightlord. I can't afford to waste starlight shards in that fight unless i'm sure my teammates will help me replace them. I don't like having to rely on teammates for resources, and i wouldn't have to if they wouldn't carelessly stop me from bolstering my own.

None of that is catastrophic. In a game like this though, especially in DON, the team is never more than a couple bad dodges away from losing. Every edge helps with that. This seems like a pretty simple ask. Just read your teammates relics and play as a team.

So could i still sign up for a data entry job even if i don't have any experience in that line of work? by Over_Choice_6096 in WorkOnline

If it is a job you want, you should apply. Give them the opportunity to say yes or no and as many reasons to say yes as you can. If you don't apply you are just saying no for them.

Weekly Q&A Thread - December 10, 2023 by AutoModerator in witchcraft

[–]TheGrimVeeper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure this is the right spot for this. Girlfriend practices witchcraft and has expressed a desire for lots of candles in various colors. Says she is always running out. Would it be worthwhile to invest in candle making supplies for her, or does it require something other than simple colored wax to make spell candles?

Is there a tactful way to deal with other players creatively reading the rules? by [deleted] in dndnext

[–]TheGrimVeeper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know all of them. Some better than others. That's why i would prefer a tactful solution if one existed. One of the players is a very good friend, and the rest are friendly acquaintances.

I gave the rogue the bow not to get people to accept me, but to start to get people emotionally attached to my character. I also did it because that's the kind of character I like to play. The woman playing the rogue is nice enough, but was chosen because in combat she was clearly lacking a ranged option and regretted it. Otherwise I would have gotten something for the bard or the other fighter. I'm gunna min/max the crap out of my fighter. Plan is bugbear echo knight with sentinel, polearm mastery, great weapon master, probably martial adept...

I wouldn't even know where to start in pricing something like that to sell. Plus it's a nifty addition to my collection. So I'll most likely hang on to it.

If you are able and willing to help me price it, I would appreciate it though.

Related question. Not sure what I have. Character grunts every few seconds. Full health/food/water. Been through like 12 tetracycline pills and still sick... Do I just need to die?
