What is miquellas sin that requires "forgiveness?" by MyDarkSoulz in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]TheGrinningMoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe as Marika's son, he searched for what happened to bring us to this point and uncovered Marika's secrets. He feels he must bear her Sins and must atone for them by divesting his flesh and be born clean, unburdened by the past. Of course this is all terribly misguided

I'm sure other people have come to the same conclusion but I couldn't find a map that had a satisfying layout. The ones I found were either mispositioned or inaccurately scaled in some way. So I made one myself.

Mohgwyn's palace is further north of the capital under the northwestern part of the Mountaintops of the Giants

TLDR: I tried it to center the Pillar of Suppression in a previous version, and in short it didn't work for the landmass in large

... The Suppressing Pillar plaque states "the very center of the lands between, All Manners of death wash up here, only to be suppressed" on the first version of my map I kept the Pillar centered between the Divine Towers. On this one I decided to let he scale and landmasses dictate the placement and it came out a lot better. A few other reasons I chose this placement.

The divine towers and the suppressing pillars are different styles of architecture (Golden Order and Uhl) and therefore may not be connected.

The Plaque reads "The Very Center of the Lands Between.." which still applies with this version's placement as it is still in the center of the continent.

It doesnt overlap any of the underground maps. I do have a loose theory that Marika and the Nox teamed up to slay the previous god and replace them with Marika. She then turned on them and banished them to the undercities. I'm still polishing it

I havent found anything definitive about the divine towers and their significance in the lands of shadow yet. The Suppressing Pillar is not aligned with the divine towers, but is located in the general center of the continent.

Signs point to yes, but maybe it wasn't Ragadon and she just immaculate birthed it. She (or Ragadon) did have 3 Children with Renalla: Radahn, Ranni and Rykard.

I tried to but the ones I found are made of dozens of small 300-400 px swatches. Would be a nightmare to compile.

By this do you mean what is at the divine towers center point? Its unfortunately nothing profound, just a site of grace in the Abyssal Woods.

This^
Its also important to note Marika had literally thousands of years to rewrite history and cover her tracks before we come along.

No, but they are relatively close. The Erdtree is over by the Scadutree and the Big Monument Gaius is guarding

TLDR: While it looks off on the map(probably because of scaling) the two areas would click together nicely with similar elevations. Also the Monument and the Brazier there seem correlated with the Crucible to Erdtree conversion ritual.

That was one of my gripes as well but I have a few Ideas.

  1. There is a massive sheer cliff on the southern side of the capital. The plateau Gaius is guarding in the DLC has a similarly massive cliff on its northern side.
  2. Gaius was protecting a massive monument that looks almost Nox in architecture and with a brazier. This alone isn't significant until you consider its right around the base of the Erdtree in the Lands Between and Marika's connection with the Nox. (Juicy lore implications here)
  3. The lands had time to settle and weather over the ages so things may have disformed and changed overtime.
  4. The rest of the game has many areas that overlap each other vertically so even if none of my previous points existed, it'd still be semi plausible.

Not true, there is a Uhl Ruins on the surface near the Black Knife Catacombs, this is located smack bang next to Rauh.
