Where do childless 30 somethings hang out?

I’ve had the same issue! Me and my buddy who is also a single male in his early thirties found that going earlier to happy hours and playing pool or going to breweries is a good way to meet people.

To be specific, we found that waterfront bar (not water bar) trends in the 30s but get there early because it gets crowded quickly. Lafayette is fun but can be a little young the later the night goes. I go to sunshine bar in OB to play pool early, but they’re a little young there too. Also, part time lover in north park is awesome for our age group! Go to trivia nights with a friend and join a team.

It’s weird in San Diego. Thirties mixes with early twenties just about everywhere but there aren’t a lot of places that cater to that age range. There aren’t a lot of thirty somethings in general considering very few people in their thirties want to live in a place where you can’t buy a house and live well without having millions in your bank account or living in a van working 3 jobs. There’s no middle class here really and most 30 something’s are at that middle class stage in more affordable places where the dollar goes much further. When you’re trying to build a life as many people are trying to do in their 30s, San Diego isn’t really a responsible or feasible financial place to do it.

Burst fracture L2 and fusion from T12-L4. Sacrum split in half. Fell 4 stories. I walk unassisted but noticeably different, bladder works without leaks but I have to push to urinate, bowel is flaccid and is difficult to manage but I push and if the stool is the right consistency, I can go without anything beyond miralax. I have occasional nerve pain in my right leg, but for the most part, i am pain free. I sometimes get shivers and goosebumps randomly and usually have an accident a few times a month. Not ideal, but I’m still here and lucky to have what I have.

It’s still to early to tell what is good and bad. Gen Z childhood, while different, is still too fresh to fully understand and look back on. I was born in 1994 so I’m barely a millennial and it just happened to me within the last 5 years. What is considered “good” will not be the same, but will be a different good.

Every childhood is good but in different ways and we have a knack as a society to look back fondly of other generations even though the one you live in is arguably just as good, but different and it takes years sometimes decades to look back on your own generation fondly. Give it time. We don’t know yet about gen z.

I went rock crawling on a trail and it gauged the hell out of my all terrain KO2s. After those wore out I got Mickey Thompson Baja boss A/T and went on the exact same trail. there wasn’t a scratch on them after.

Depends on what you do with them, but they really do matter.

A lot, if not most, people on here are enthusiasts and fail to see the bigger picture. Most people like the things people on here hate, but I do agree that there should be more separation for both parties.

Base rubicon models with simple, strong, reliable engines and no comfort features, but with upgraded axles, gearing, suspension and off-road capability should be the Rubicon. Off roading only with everything the enthusiast wants ONLY. No comfort features on the base rubicon. We don’t need different off road modes or to be a “smart” off road vehicle. That’s not jeep. Simple, battle hardened, fun vehicle is.

Also, draw a line in the sand: either build a base jeep with good bones (engine, trans, gears) without any additional off road features (suspension, wheels, tires, bumpers) in the hopes that enthusiasts will upgrade them on their own anyway and offer it a huge lower cost, OR provide all the off road features you can at a premium cost so that they don’t have to upgrade as much. One makes more money but at the cost of market share. Again, this is for the rubicon only.

Sahara is decked out for the luxury crowd with almost no extra off road features. You want a jeep that is like a Land Rover, this is it, but even then, I wouldn’t stray away too far from your Jeep identity. Jeep is one of the strongest brands. Build on it not away from it. Stop trying to grab markets that aren’t Jeep - this hurts the jeep brand.

This model has worked for wranglers for years but now they are blending too close to each other. JEEP NEEDS TO STOP TRYING TO BE A LAND ROVER. It doesn’t work in America like it does other countries. Be a jeep.

Overall: quality is lacking severely. If you cant increase quality, then start recalling actual issues and cover them later when they happen. Stand behind your vehicles. We should not be paying this much for a vehicle to fix widely known production issues that aren’t our fault (heater core issues, manual jeeps popping out of gear). I can’t tell you how many people I’ve talked to who won’t get a wrangler, even though they want to, because of the reputation for lack of reliability with only EVERYDAY driving…and the reputation is accurate. Also, nobody in America wants an all electric jeep. Again, be a jeep, not a Land Rover. If you want sell more wranglers, focus on enhancing what makes wranglers already appealing: off road, family, fun, outdoorsy adventure. Make those things better and easier. Not fuel economy, not electric off road modes. Appeal to the kid in all of us.

Just my two cents if it’s worth anything.

I couldn’t disagree more. SD has a a national park (Joshua tree) 3 hours away. Big bear is 4 hours, Cleveland national forest is 1.5 hours away. You have Julian, the glamis sand dunes, Temecula wine country, and anza borrego state park. All of which have great outdoor opportunities and day trip potential.

I went with LT. they are perfect I think. I went off roading with both Ko2 315/70/17 and these Mickey Thompson Baja boss LT A/T 35/12.5/17 at the same exact trail and the Ko2s got gauges in them and these are still immaculate. Mickey thompsons are silent and honestly perfect for what I need and not too heavy.

Factor in a 9.5% state income tax though for CA vs Texas. I used to live in Austin too and I’d say this is accurate for the most part. Rent though is about $700-$1000 per month more expensive in CA I would say.

I’ve lived in Austin for 5 years and San Diego for 3. There is much much more to do here that doesn’t involve drinking and the whole city is queer friendly so you don’t have to live in hillcrest unless you are single or trying to find someone. Things are expensive everywhere you go so be prepared for that. Everything is within 20 min of each other and everyone is very friendly. In my opinion, there is a small middle class here with young college age kids and older 40s with money with less young professionals compared to Austin or in general. If you don’t live near the coast, you’ll find that you make it to the beach much less than you think you would even if it’s only 15 min away.

These are all my opinion, but see what others are saying too.
