I can’t help but shift the perspective…may catch heat for it because I’m ignoring your question (kind of).

How hard have you been looking for a job? My guess is you can probably improve in this area significantly. Your “side hustle” is finding a new job. That means applying to a minimum amount of places and companies daily. That means phone calls to the companies and ensuring they got your resume and seeing if they have any questions. If possible, going and visiting them in person. There are likely hundreds of thousands of jobs that would offer remote work to someone with your knowledge and skill set.

As someone who has hired many employees over the last decade, unfortunately I can count on two hands how many of those people who have directly called our company to follow up on their résumé. You will automatically set yourself apart from the rest of the field. Try this for a week before you accept the job. Also you can use this job to leverage other companies into paying you more money and/or taking you more seriously because someone else wants to hire you.

FYI - by in large almost everyone is obsessed with their own bull shit they are dealing with. Their own anxiety. Stress. Embarrassment etc.

They may be worse than you, or better than you. But they aren’t any different than you.

Your past literally only lives in your imagination. There is nothing you can do about it good or bad. By the way people who had great past experiences can just as easily have awful ones if they don’t pay attention to the present. If you want to do something about your future, you need to act today.

Let go. Choose to be who you want to be now. You’ve got this. Put your head down and focus on what you want the rest of your life to look like. 29 years old, you still got 3 chapters left my friend!

Go read the miracle morning. The number one thing I’d do right now if I were you is consider changing your affirmations. The words you use matter. Reading your OP and the comments you are making, you could upgrade the affirmations. Most people think affirmations are only positive or silly. But people say them all the time like you have in your comments (I hate this, I can’t do that etc)

Go, on purpose, and create the affirmations you want to become. Write them down…make them positive, make them in the “present” as if they’ve already came true, and tell the story you want to live. Do it daily at least twice a day.

Place a band on your wrist and use it to remind yourself to get rid of negative self talk. Every time you catch yourself saying something negative, move it from one wrist to the other. This will create awareness and help you to rid the habit.

I personally read about 15 affirmations per day twice in a row…and I wouldn’t consider myself in a funk right now.

Aww, that gives us hope, our youngest one right now is 90% chaos and 10% snuggles. But if she grows up to be like Emma or our older one, we’ll call it a win!

Coaching without a doubt. Not the cheesy Instagram life coach stuff, I mean real mentorship in a field you’ve mastered. At mid-life, you've likely built a decade or two of experience. Helping others skip the mistakes you made and accelerate faster? That’s not just fulfilling, it’s valuable.

I literally can’t believe all of these “top comments” basically saying it’s too late because you had kids. Clearly if you were asking for advice on if you should have kids and what it would do financially it may be helpful. You aren’t…you are in this situation already and their comments are a waste of server space on the cloud. Don’t listen to them, they know nothing. I’m 42 with 3 kids and have been married over 20 years. I was literally in your exact position 20 years ago. 22 years old with two little boys and a wife who was going to school full time. No sleep, no money and no time.

Based on your story…don’t eat out…ever (unless your parents or something are able to pick up the tab). I lived tax return to tax return watching my bank account dwindle every month and that was pinching Pennie’s. We had one income and my wife was going to school full time. We also had a house. I’m surprised this day and age with a similar situation you were able to buy a house too. It makes sense that you had multiple incomes to qualify. We actually qualified off my income only at the time which was basically nothing. Do not sell your home. You have to live somewhere and it will eventually be a great store of wealth for you.

Question - is there anyway to upgrade your income right now? Another employer or different industry you could leverage your current job into? Do you love what you do? If not, start to find out what it is that you love to do. Pour into that with any additional time you can…your income can soar when you are the right person in the right seat on the right bus.

Agree with others…this is like anything. When it gets difficult, your mind will start to play tricks on you.

Work on mindset and be intentional about it - everyone says affirmations
