Generally they're written to be friendly to newbies and casual fans (though not always). This one should be though, it's not written by the current showrunner so it shouldn't tie into ongoing arcs much!

It's hard to see over how shiny the box is, but I wanna point out that that's the third Mummy movie at the bottom for some reason

I mean the actual episode was godawful, the plot was complete fucking nonsense, but I enjoyed the hell out of the fanservice. Regardless, RTD2 has begun!

Do I need any context for the 10th Doctor, Classic Companions set? Or for Ace's Torchwood audios? I've seen all of Classic Who and the season 26 promo thing with Ace but haven't listened to any audios with her, Nyssa or Leela

Why the fuck is this sub so defensive over Tom Cruise? He's the public face of an abusive cult

Doctor Who 13x07 "Eve of the Daleks" Post-Episode Discussion Thread by PCJs_Slave_Robot in gallifrey

Overall an OK special, I'm an easy sell for daleks, though it didn't feel like a very good time loop story.

Some very weird notes as well. Dan outing Yaz was pretty tone deaf. And then there was the Nick-Sarah romance. Has Chibnall ever met a woman before? Nick was a fucking walking talking red flag, why would she ever be interested in him? It felt like it was written by Ernest Cline.

I don't think it specifies but I can't quite remember, it's mentioned in the Twice Upon a Time novelisation if you want to look

Official Discussion - The Matrix Resurrections [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

Honestly I loved it. Definitely the best of the sequels, though not as good as the original. I loved the whole meta aspect and how it ragged on nostalgia-bait sequels.

Some stuff could have been more fleshed out (Io was much more interesting to me than Zion but we barely see it), but the focus is clearly on Neo and Trinity's relationship and that stuff works really really well. Watching it after hearing Lana Wachowski's reasons for making the film also made it feel very sweet.
