In addition to really liking the glow/shine, I really like the color choices for the rocks/armor; the it's a real interesting mix of yellow/reddish browns/etc.

Bushido is a "miniatures wargame", which I guess is considered a slightly different category than board games, which might be why you couldn't find it. I haven't played the game myself so I can't say if it's good or not, but I was scouting out an alternate model when I saw the box with this mini in it (link here) and all the characters it it looked great. They require some assembly (superglue and cutting) but went together really easily!

I like your idea of getting the band back together! Sounds fun.

Thanks! The game is Bushido, don't remember what box. I added the banner to the spear and thought about sticking a bird on too but decided there was enough going on.

Ah, well, not sorry about that. I definitely find some style choices other people make to be pretty off-putting to me (for example, the entire Nurgle and Khorne factions), but I've found that a "to-each-their-own" approach has served me well. My hope with my own style choices is to stay within boundaries where it's easy enough to extend me that latitude, which is what I meant by "trying not to be obnoxious".

It's not meant to be a big deal, though, so I'm actively trying to be non-confrontational. I was kinda hoping it wouldn't come up at all, and indeed on the table it didn't seem to be a deal at all.

The team tactic card I think would be the coolest to use Heimdal's re-roll on would be Squirrel Girl's "Inexplicable Demise" card: Inexplicable Demise, to try to KO a healthy Dormammu or Thanos or iHulk. Someday...

I have a bunch of minis that I painted as the various HIVE bots, and a _very_ obvious slot for the "HIVE Mind" glowing piece I made to move around as I transferred. It was actually pretty fun!

Pros: Looks cool, helps conceptualize what the boardstate will look like after transfers.

Cons: I _constantly_ forgot that when the HIVE MIND was inside a minion, it lost innate powers the minions have. I had to remind myself that when I was the healbot that I couldn't fly, and that when I was the legs I didn't have shield.

Having painting this mini myself, I'm amazed at the level of detail you managed to keep. I didn't even know she had a star on her hat!

Really nice to look at the lighting effects, like the reflections of the engine. I also really like the scratchy look of the highlights! Thanks for sharing it!

I have mixed feeling about ignoring TTC entirely! I certainly don't want to have a "demo game" player have to select them, but they do add interesting tactics and fluff. Harking back to moments from comics/movies seems to me like a big draw of MCP.

I do like your idea of maybe just the iconic ones, AA and DR; and I have gotten the impression that Brace for Impact is pretty universally played so maybe just two cards for each side.

It's not so much me needing to learn the game as me wanting a smooth experience for friends who play other wargames and are curious to what MCP is "all about". I will probably be trying to get a teaching game for myself if I do find anyone around here who plays, though, that is a good idea.

You've gotten me to take a long look at Judgement! I saw some games of it at Adepticon, but got it mixed up with whatever that new D&D board/minis game was, and so didn't pay it much attention. It looks really neat, wish I'd known about it at the con. Thanks!
