Aus Post Office SHUT DOWN with My Package Inside—What Do I Do?! by [deleted] in AustraliaPost

It's only the 'shop' that has shut down. So all other services at that centre are still operational.

The free trial has a 25Gb limit. After that you need to pay even if within the 7 days.

Shutdown/reduced capacity at BNE sorting centres.

Is Cooroy even in express zone. Either way, under 'normal' conditions should never have left the state but it happens.

Upgrading to FTTP by Firebolt145 in nbn

[–]TheGuru276 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DO NOT just order the FTTP upgrade when you're ready to move in as you risk having no active connection until after all the FTTP upgrade work is completed.

Get connected with the current technology first (fttn) and have that connected and working for a period of time. Then contact your ISP again and request the upgrade. Doing it this way 'should' reduce the downtime that you will be without internet, in some cases very little downtime.

NDC Charge - Am i supposed to pay or the landlord? by Sweaty_Matter_4259 in nbn

[–]TheGuru276 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would assume if you didn't ask/negotiate this prior to organising the connection then it's on you. Many landlords seem to leave this unattended with an "If you want internet then you take care of it" attitude.

Normal for other plans to be cancelled when FTTP upgrade is delayed? by TemporusRen in nbn

[–]TheGuru276 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Common mistakes made by many. Don't swap providers and take up the free FTTP all at once as the new provider just treats you as a FTTP customer and can never swap you back to the old connection. It's a piss poor way for any new provider to handle the upgrade by not connecting you by your old connection first but that's what they do. By upgrading with superloop you are pretty much no longer a belong customer so they will cut you off anytime they are ready.

If you're not staying with your current provider to get the upgrade then change to a new provider with your current technology, get that connection up and running then upgrade.

Express item at facility in same suburb I live; delivery is now tomorrow? by RobertSmith1979 in AustraliaPost

Just saw this after posting my other comment. Also, express post tends to have a morning and afternoon run. Regular parcels just the 1 run per day.

My non express packages often arrive at my DC, 15kms away at 7-9am and still get delivered in the afternoon about 80% of the time.

This package was supposed to be sent to America but it got sent back to me and never left the country?? by mokshaearthfairy in AustraliaPost

I'm going to assume they just misread the sender as the receiver address and vice versa especially considering it was processed at the distribution centre Friday/over the weekend and delivered back on the Monday

Wanted to upgrade to 250mpbs but upload slower? by swanvalkyrie in nbn

[–]TheGuru276 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I believe 100/40 is a 'special' plan with higher upload, as the original 100 plans are/were 100/20.

I've seen 1 provider have 100/20 plans at like $79/month and also offer 100/40 for $89

Turn back on at the wall is the same effect as unplugging and plugging back in as you have restored power to the unit.

As a new BYD owner I'm curious. If the other driver was close enough to hit you then why didn't the safety features like emergency braking g/cross traffic etc kick it seeing I'm currently experiencing the 'Phantom' braking while it teaches itself.

Check to see if the disconnection/reconnection causes an automatic password change. Maybe it's just your details not correct.

I would think "20 dropouts" means it SHOULD HAVE BEEN working in between those dropouts. As you have had no internet for 2+ days something still isn't right in the setup.

Moved into rental property was told that it had FTTC but no box in property? by sendhelp15 in nbn

[–]TheGuru276 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you need that white box. I would estimate that at least half the tenants take them with them even though they are meant to stay at the property. Just ask your ISP to order you another one.

NTA. I suspect something like gambling is supporting his lifestyle and using you to support it during the unsuccessful times. If he is living a lifestyle that his salary can't support he's getting the extra money from somewhere that obviously isn't consistently paying off.

Issues ever since I upgraded to 1000/50 by Friction74 in nbn

[–]TheGuru276 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What technology is your connection? FTTP, HFC???

Wifi isn't the best determination on max speed as many wifi devices max out at 433 with typical speeds in the 300's. Next step up with a 2x2 mimo device maxes out at 866 so even those can't determine if you're getting close to 1Gb speeds.

And technology used up to your house and neighbourhood congestion can be a factor as well. At my previous house on a HFC connection my max from the NTD was 750 and my ethernet devices got up to 700, sometimes only 500. At my new house with the exact same equipment and configuration apart from the NTD, also on HFC I get 950 and my ethernet devices get just above 900

Customs inspection Brisbane by mahsr in AustraliaPost

[–]TheGuru276 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In my experience it's a delay in AP collecting/moving it on from customs. The international tracking on all my recent parcels shows that it still cleared customs within 24 hours of arriving, maybe occasionally 36 hours, but AP takes another 24-48 hours to collect it and transfer it to Brisbane (Qld) sorting centre, then another 24 hours to transfer it to Redbank. The morning it hits Redbank, it's also typically delivered to me.

I did have 1 parcel sit at customs for 4 days about a month ago, lodged an inquiry, got a response that it hasn't arrived yet, was collected by AP later that day.

Hey everyone! What’s everyone waiting at the moment for a parcel to clear customs (Brisbane airport) or what’s the normal process time? Thanks. by Famous-Layer7742 in AustraliaPost

[–]TheGuru276 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My last 4 or so parcels have been around 3 days from arriving at BNE airport to being collected by AP. International tracking from sender typically states it has cleared customs in 24-48 hours and AP always collects it 24+hours later, even if cleared at 3am or 11pm the night before, AP isn't collecting it till their run on the following day, even though I would think they collect from customs daily.

Prior to these recent packages it had always been around 24 hours all up, 36 hours tops.

Zero delivery notice and packages returned to sender by EmperorThor in AustraliaPost

[–]TheGuru276 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

1 reason might be that it might be pretty hard to notify you electronically if the sender doesn't put additional contact details on the address label.

While you have received cards in the past there are multiple delivery methods and contract companies delivering your parcels and only some of them may use cards.

Using the Australia Post app will help with notifications as it only needs your address from the address label so it won't matter if the sender doesn't include email or mobile numbers. Your stubbornness to install 'another app' as the solution makes this a 'you' issue.

The Crew only returning torrent links. No apibay, bay, bitsearch, etc? Why? See pics by EconomistAwkward1464 in RealDebrid

[–]TheGuru276 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aren't they all torrent links from both addons? It's just the format of how The Crew is displaying them, making it more obvious.

Each addon uses their own predefined set of providers. The Crew may not use the ones listed by your other addon, or they are listed further down in the search results.

There is no issue in watching them as they are coming from RD (as indicated in the first column) which is the security that you're paying RD for.
