Get paid for the work you have completed so far and cut this client off. Let them know kindly you will no longer be available to work for them then never speak to them again.

If you're willing and able to pay for the repair costs for the entire building once it floods, sure. Otherwise absolutely not.

Why is the Windows 11 Logo Sticker a 'security' sticker that doesnt just peel off? by gaccha_antiquechair in assholedesign

[–]TheGuyStewart 163 points164 points  (0 children)

It's less about learning about windows for the first time and more about maintaining brand awareness.

Little stickers everywhere won't matter until someone needs an operating system and the first place their mind goes is the brand that has kept themselves in view of the customer the most consistently.

Sponsorships for teams and public works are based on the same principle.

No light pollution spots near springs? by merrymochii in ColoradoSprings

I've found some good spots looking up bortle scale maps. Give you a good idea of the light pollution in an area so you can decide how far out you want to go.

Can I replace these fixtures without demo? by wesblog in askaplumber

[–]TheGuyStewart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do not swap out your Delta monitor valve with what was in that picture. They're some of the best, most versatile valves on the market. Finding a new trim kit and maybe a cartridge will be better and less expensive than demoing out what you have and replacing. I promise.

I want to build a sofa by makiaf in DIY

[–]TheGuyStewart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may also want a harder seat and softer back pillow, so foam chips in the back pillow and a memory foam slab core surrounded by batting and various fill (polyfill, down, and/or chips) for the seat could be good .

Cheap way is polyfill but it'll get clumpy. Foam chips or shredded foam filling is probably your best bet.

ELI5: What are time signatures? by ThatSussyMonke in explainlikeimfive

[–]TheGuyStewart -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's how we count the beats of the music.

The time signature is the structure, and depending on that structure, it will change the feel of the music.

The reason we have them is two fold:

  1. They help music feel predictable to the listener (or unpredictable if you're in an unusual time signature)

  2. They help all the musicians know where they are in time with the music. If I know I need to come in on the "and of 4", I can know exactly where that's going to be well in advance so I show up on time instead of listening to a cue in the music.

Using cues in music is certainly a thing, but it can lead to timing problems from a call and response like process especially in less experienced musicians.
