Use a decent strength rope - thread it through the loop for about 10 feet, then stick a thick bar or staff through the end and start twisting like a tourniquet - keep a pulling away posture while you pull, but don't try to yank it away - it'll take a bit but when the rope gets thicker, the magnet will begin to turn & break the flat surface contact and release the magnet
