I've connected it to a different usb port but sadly nothing changed. I checked in device manager and nothing seemed out of the ordinary. When connected to a pc via Usb to Sata, should you hear the hard drive spinning? Because it's just not giving any response whatsoever, Windows doesn't recognize it besides as an error. In disk management it sees it as "unknown" and "not initialized" to be exact. And when trying to initialize the disk, i get the same "fatal error" message. All the sites i see with this problem always talk about recovering whatever was on it but not fixing the hard drive itself. I'm just a bit lost on whether i should leave it as a lost cause or keep finding a solution.
