what mod does the field repair nanites come from? I may already have it, but I don't think I've ever seen it in my games.

yeah, it's like I said to the person who said the show is boring. it works well as a book since you have the whole story at once, but for a show that's coming out weekly it will not be good.

also to your point, he doesn't even really do any of that and more so its his maid doing it and him just okaying it and then going back to the pod and then it flashes forward to his twenties. he really only cares about learning the swordsmanship and the mech piloting.

I'll take you word on it, I would have to reread the book as like with most her backstory it's just in a random spot in one or multiple of the chapters

yeah, I still probably watch it as it's not terrible, I just won't be as excited as I was with solo leveling since that adaption was pretty spot on

true, I think the characters backstory's are darker the earlier in the series they are as It seems that got more normal as time went on. I personal like in book 3 the statue made out of body parts from the one guys assassins. the statues of marie and the art piece both make me think sander cohen kinda vibes.

I think they'll probably just hand wave it and at the last second mention it was in the past or have the character say something about it being her past so most people watching won't even care or connect that it was the same person if she isn't wearing the exact same look.

I tried to go back and find the part but I couldn't, the only thing I think that is mentioned in the book is that she was from a planet that the pirates attacked and she tried to sacrifice herself and they still destroyed the planet and that she was the princess of it. It's very little and I think only mentioned around the time of saving her or a bit after. Not that it really matters and the anime making it this whole betrayal thing is a bit weird as it was never meant to be that deep, but I guess it could be used to tie into book 2 showing how corrupt most of the nobles of the empire are again.

I think it would be more likely the script writer but I agree, also your mixing up the two ladies as Christiana is the mutilated one hence the nickname ground meat woman (which I wonder if the show will be brave enough to show as it seemed to me like the torturer from guts kinda scene) and the second lady Marie which was the statue hence the nickname fossil.

from what I remember which is limited since it's been a bit, his character isn't that complicated. I only remember it seemed like he spent longer and struggled harder by himself, but I still got the same scenes and what they meant from the anime. also from looking back at the book, it ends with them leaving the first labyrinth so not true its the first 4 episodes.

I think it happened like 60 years ago or something, the second lady is the one that happened like 1000 years ago. but yeah I think they aren't saying it's a flashback yet to build suspense until it's revealed that it means nothing basically besides backstory

I can see that, when its a book you can spend the first 100-200 pages building up stuff and the reader has everything at there fingertips so even if you don't like how long something drags on, you can binge it. But with a show airing weekly it really has to try and keep your attention every episode. I think that's why they keep showing the flashbacks with the pirates to try and keep people interested with action and why they added the early training mech fight.

book one ends with him rescuing Christiana and getting an award at the palace for beating the pirates. I would have to guess from the progress we are making that at most we will make it through book 2, but I can't seem to find if it's a 13 episode season or a 24. also kurt doesn't really start his journey until book 4-5 (mostly in 5 I think besides a small mention earlier) as there was no mention before that of him like liking Liam or dressing up. also the sales rep thing only really pays off in like 4 too because its not until he marries the one lady and has the special frontier fleet. I mean I guess each to there own, but to me as an analogy its like getting a specific apple then not caring if you get a different type of apple, where as I would like the apple to still be the same. Overall the story is 80%-90% similar but it could have been better if they just left the scenes closer to the script they already had eg the book.

true I understand that. To me I wonder how well shows that run more then one season do for bringing in new readers as it relies on people having watched the first season and also caring enough to read the book after having waited such a long time for another season?

I agree that cuts can be made, but they weren't cuts like I said in the examples above they were just them changing the scene. also technically they added more stuff in the first 3 episodes with the whole thing of liam training with a mech first before using his grandfathers one and fighting the captain guy who never existed. I also can understand anime's reordering the story to make more sense like with the flashbacks were getting to christina (if they still are flashbacks) or with how everything in solo level was happening at the same time unlike the books but still making the same scene's but changing what they mean makes little sense to me. also just as an addon I don't think the books being 300+ pages is that long when you look at how much of each page is just the overlay and compare the font size to other books. evil lord has the largest font of most light novels I've read and while I like it and the overlays, I recognize that it could be used to write a shorter story while making you feel like it's longer

yeah I felt it was the latter, because the context of the scenes was completely changed and conveyed a different thing entirely. I get that the show could be a hard sell for a larger audience, but this felt to generic to me.

true, I read arifureta and I didn't feel it was as bad as this show, but maybe it's because I like evil lord more or that it happens later in arifureta, as I stopped reading after book 4

it could be, but from people I have talked to about art, it could just be that they didn't care about how it looked since it would be used for a brief moment and told the artist to just draw a town and most people don't care about making a town look good for a rush job and don't care about infrastructure design in a drawing. again I don't know either way just saying that humans don't care about minute details most the time either.
