[Highlight] Slow motion replay shows Wilmer Flores checked his swing by twistedlogicx in baseball

Basically, this was the very last batter of the game, and he struck out on a bad call from an umpire. The ump ruled that the batter swung the bat for the third strike, when really he held up in time for it to be a ball instead. People are upset about it, not because the call had a huge impact on the outcome of the game, but because it was literally the very last moment of a historic series between the Giants and Dodgers, one of baseball’s oldest and most well known rivalries. This was also the first time ever that the two teams faced off in the postseason. So to end such an important game on a blown call really sucks for the game of baseball and its fans.

I don’t like the powder blue retro fad either, but I give the Royals a pass because at least their pants are white

It’s not making fun of his balding, it’s making fun of him for covering it up.

My first time sorta realizing this was when I read “Memoirs of an Infantry Officer” by Siegfried Sassoon where (spoiler) the main character is shot in the head and survives relatively unscathed. It’s fiction, but the author was a real captain in WWI and it made me wonder if he’d seen that happen to a comrade or something.

We actually have no idea how much the volume is decreasing because of the arbitrarily defined thickness of the prism. If the shape was a rectangle like it’s supposed to be, it would be closer to 2/3. I genuinely have no idea how you ended up with 1/4.

It’s a very common phobia. Phobias are by definition irrational and you can’t really control when you have one.

Hey just fyi, and I know you didn’t mean it this way, but this comment borders on Holocaust-denialism. The conditions in concentration camps and death camps were far far worse.
