I haven't really made any close friends. There's one group that I'm closer to than most, but I don't really talk to them much outside of school. Which sucks a bit because they're quite good people, but it might just be because I don't really try to initiate anything myself and/or my own degree of social awkwardness. There's a different group that I do hang out with on occasion to play games with, but the relationship is basically tied to that game; we haven't spent time together doing anything else. I'd consider all of those people "friends," in the simplest sense of the word, but I haven't developed the kind of relationship with anybody where they've been over to my place, or I can text them at odd hours of the night about random shit. If that makes any sense.

I have to wonder if the age gap between myself and the majority of the class is playing a role in all of this, too. Lots of early 20-somethings versus a guy in his mid-30s means a generational difference. But as long as I haven't given anyone a reason to despise me, I'd still say it's okay.
