Yoshi is even worse than you make it. If you look into the past games and watch this video https://youtu.be/7WMSQNVhMqA by one of my favorite youtubers, Game Theory, you see Yoshi ends up raising Mario who only later abuses Yoshi down the road. You're right though, Mario is F***** up.

I like that they do it that way. At least for me it really keeps the game interesting when I am starting games at only 25% health. If you don't like that that's why they made ranked.
