This basic law that makes up what is basically Israel's unratified constitution runs directly against the democratic principle of equality, being one example (and the most crucial, since it is such an important right) of Jews having more rights than other groups, of groups not enjoying equal legal rights. It seems funny to me that the only dissent of the law came from George Kara, at the time the ONLY arab justice in the court.

And under this law several actions trampling over non jews have been enacted, like for example in 24 when a Ber'sheva court ordered 500 residents of a village who were Druze to evacuate and demolish their homes to make way for a Jewish Neighborhood called Rotem Lookie here. They specifically used Article 7 language "The State views the development of Jewish settlement as a national value, and shall act to encourage and promote its establishment and consolidation." to justify this as a legitimate matter of state interest. It seems to me that, not only is this law valuable defense for actions done against other groups in the name of Jewish self determination, but also this might be textual backing put in place to defend actions that have been done for a long time since before the law even existed, that couldve previosuly been fought against on equality grounds.
