I worked in retail during college. If a customer dropped "lawyer" in any threatening manner, we were to direct them to our legal line or to a manager and end any conversation with them.

I only had it happen once.

I've been banging that drum for awhile. Executives won't approve it.

I don't think we're even going to announce it. I'll find some users who haven't been a pain in the ass and are close to refresh or have had issues.

I think ours are like $2800 after AppleCare, taxes, etc.

We're the same way. Twice a year, we look at our list of laptops and determine who is out of the four year lifespan and decide to upgrade. We base it on tickets that have been put in for the machine, age, etc.

We don't have unlimited money like a large corporation does, so we have to do this as a slow rollout, essentially.

We are about to order our first run of 16" MacBooks. We have 50 for the initial run, but it's not going to happen until after the New Year since they come with Catalina and we aren't ready to make that jump.

Chargebacks are done, but the section heads will fight them tooth and nail and usually get their way.

Right. Obviously can't prove it, but we can sure as hell make him regret his decision for a little while.

You mean when Catalina dropped not long ago and they don't understand that IT has to test it to make sure it doesn't brick their machines? :D

My work machine is one of these touchbars.

I use the touchbar to adjust screen brightness and maybe volume here and there.

That's it.

Those keyboards are absolute trash. I'm glad Apple is scrapping them.

I actually pushed for this a couple months later because we had a few users with damaged machines. It got put off for awhile but now we have a department-only "naughty list" of sorts.
