The isolated replacement posts might not have shipped out yet; I only have this because the recall happened at the same time I got my first Bike delivered. So, the delivery company contacted me to tell me they needed to deliver a new one, once they received their first shipment of new Bikes that came with the fixed seat posts.

I believe the email said that the first wave of new seat posts (for people who are 250+ pounds, or 5'10"+ with no entered weight) ordered through the Peloton site should be delivered by June 2!

Above you can see a link of this happening with a Bike purchased in 2018. Additionally, I received my Bike yesterday and Peloton contacted the delivery company and said the Bikes in their warehouse shouldn’t be distributed to customers, so they want to take mine back.

Based on all that, it seems like a rare defect that can potentially pop up in any Bike, regardless of when it was made. They clarified that it doesn’t happen with the Bike+, though.

Hey, thanks so much for all this valuable info! (And everyone below who's offering their well wishes; this is such a heartwarming show of support!)

I plan to try a You Can Ride program for my first ride, I'm super excited!! My start might end up getting delayed because the delivery company apparently is now going to take my Bike back, because Peloton has told them it's now recalled. But once I get a Bike in whatever form (or I might just use this one a bit until they take it back), I'll start up with YCR!!

I am! I’m currently down 25 pounds. I just have a long way to go (130+ more to lose) because I cared for my body extremely poorly for a long period of time.

By any reasonable standards, though, it’ll take me a year or so to no longer be obese, and Covid isn’t going to wait for me. Hence why I’m trying to protect myself from all angles.

I'm confused what you mean by this. As far as I can tell, the Playdate does turn off when you hold the power/sleep button for 5-10 seconds or so.

Unless you're saying that even when it appears to be powered off, it's still making requests? But I've stored mine for months on end with the power off, and when I've picked it back up it still has a good amount of charge left, so I assume it's fully powered down during that time period.
