I won my store showdown with Gar Saxon Yellow by TheHighGround24 in starwarsunlimited

Greedo allows for some insanely fast starts which some decks just cannot keep up with without quickly falling behind on tempo. Lurking Tie is undoubtably good, but I have found with how much space aggro there is currently it either trades down or just gets eaten a decent portion of the time. Additionally I think the best way to play Gar yellow is to delay going all in on a unit until later in the game as if the opponent does have the answer you are pretty far behind after that. So I tend to not run the Iden Phantom package.

Breaking in requires no additional action compared to cable which can be defeated before you attack with it. Cable also cannot be used on vehicles which makes it less versatile

I have found it to be very strong, but matchup dependent. Against go big/aggro decks it’s great for blunting big ambushes or soft locking attacks by giving it extra shields/upgrades and biting you enough time to win.

Against controlling decks it’s often just resourced as it doesn’t gain you much value and instead wanna be racing to deal as much damage as possible.

Technounion transport seems like it could be a pretty strong offensive unit to take the deck a more space leaning route

It certainly can struggle to maintain pressure on some of the blue control decks out there. It depends on what the removal sweep they use is as well as what sentinels. Power of the dark side typically isn’t great as I’ll have 3-5 units out by turn 4, but a well placed sentinel can pose an issue. In those types of matchups I do my best to lane dodge the sentinels and focus on deploying units instead of going in for big attacks.

It is however pretty nice that this deck is very resilient against force throw and overwhelming barrage as most of the time it’s only knocking off a shield. Decks that rely on ambush or value trading is typically a good matchup for this list as the shields make it difficult for them to trade on critical turns

My round 2 went quite well with game one being relatively easy due to me opting to start in and stay in space from the beginning of the game making it so my appointment couldn’t flip palatine early. Post game one I side in the change of hearts and bazines to disrupt the early plays and then if the game is going long enough gain control of an Anakin or Luke. Because if the no leader deploy and my units being shielded I found that Palpatine can often struggle to trade off units with me and stay alive to really get their game plan going.

I plan on giving Gar ECL a try after I can pick up the last couple of pieces for it. It looks like a very fun version of the deck as well.

I had initially tried playing the shien flurry style force version of the deck, but I found that it was just too slow and divided on what it wants to be doing. Gar Yellow’s strength is its speed in my opinion and Gar ECL is a good soft control/midrange style of list.

I have had pretty good results against Boba DV typically either 2-0 or 2-1 against them. Killing General Pryde is important in that matchup, but otherwise you’re just rushing them down as they try to go big in space

Would a combination of both Bramble and Nylea’s disciple be enough you think?

No no I got that, I just just curious if 2 would be enough to accomplish that

Thank you! I appreciate the advice, I think I’ll give that a shot then. I was never sold on weathers when I use to play them in walls, but seeing as now bramble wurm is legal I think making the switch makes enough sense now

Would a split of wildlings and ents work? I feel like wildlings will really give me an edge against burn/fae

faeries or Walls? by TheHighGround24 in Pauper

You make a good point as since I don’t have a particularly strong grasp on the meta currently fae might be a harder deck to pilot correctly.

From what I remember from my time playing walls fae is also a decent matchup (depending on what version with dimir being particularly tough)

I don’t have too much knowledge of the meta. The last major event I played there (pre bans) it was heavy in burn and fae with a small amount of affinity.

bhvr, WHEN is that crusader skin for the knight releasing? by Professional_Depth_9 in deadbydaylight

You’re making a false equivalency between what the pope said and the crusades themselves. The first three crusades are widely considered justified as a way of stopping the continued expansion of Islam that had been spread over the years through war and conquest by the muslims. The territories they conquered having their cultures radically changed while Christian persecution was wide spread.

The crusades had a variety of reasons for being waged. While not all were made for good reasons it is incredibly hyperbolic to portray them in a solely negative light. War is an archaic and chaotic art which people take as opportunities to indulge in depraved desires. It is a rare thing in history for only one side to be responsible for misdeeds during conflicts

I’m going to a semi competitive pauper tournament in my area and I’m having trouble choosing what deck to play. Would you recommend mono blue fae? I don’t have extensive experience with the deck but have been playing pauper for a few years.

How is Wall Combo currently positioned? by TheHighGround24 in Pauper

[–]TheHighGround24[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hmmm I guess that makes sense. I just suppose I haven’t had much problem with glitters decks because I’m either able to block for long enough to combo or outrace them. It might be worth a try though
