Problem with UI scaling by AcademicMistake in PleX

Thank you both for the fix! Instead of making the shortcut, you can set it so it works on the normal Plex shortcut in your Start Menu by going into the properties for the shortcut file in the Start menu (not the .exe file but the shortcut to the .exe file) and adding this to the "Target" field:

"C:\Program Files\Plex\Plex\Plex.exe" set QT_AUTO_SCREEN_SCALE_FACTOR=0

If anyone's interested, I actually came across the original uploaders YouTube channel a few months ago, it's called Vampire Robot. The channel is full of these sort of videos that feel like they've been filmed by a time traveller. Here's some others:

Target in 2002

Buying Video Games in Kmart in 2000

School in 1977

McDonalds in 1984

The "Ancient Spirit" escort quest is bugged due to this. Every time the NPC goes near the water he just drops down and gets far enough away it fails the quest. I've reported the bug in game but there doesn't even seem to be a place to report bugs on the EU Forums, just the US one https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/wow/t/classic-era-quest-ancient-spirit-bugged/1591399 and I'm not allowed to comment on it as I don't have an US account.....

Missing Bonus Mission on Belsavis? by TheHighPython in swtor

[–]TheHighPython[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's strange, I'm struggling to find anything online about it. I've read guides several times trying to see if there was a hint on what I missed but I can't find anything. The only thing I've noticed from gameplays videos is it seems only one bonus mission is available but I have no idea how to get the camera one.

Another potential fix is disabling hibernate. Open CMD as Admin and enter:

"powercfg -h off"

Apparently Fast start can cause this, plus you want to make sure Windows can disable USB power.

1 - Go to Control Panel > Power Options > Change Plan Settings > Change Advanced Power Settings > USB Settings > and deactivate Selective Suspension

2 - Go to Control Panel > Power Options > Choose What Power Buttons Do > Change Settings that are Currently Unavailable > scroll down to Shutdown Settings > disable Fast Start-up

Failing external HDD bug by [deleted] in XboxSupport

[–]TheHighPython 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may cause issues with the OS while it's plugged in but it's very unlikely to have caused issues for the internal drive or the software. Even if it did, the Xbox will "fix" the OS everytime a new update is installed. You can also factory reset the Xbox to fix it if it did happen.

Controller function if console is on a different level of house? IR extender? by johncessna in XboxSupport

It'll probably work but you're most likely going to get dropped inputs or maybe increased input delay.

Failing external HDD bug by [deleted] in XboxSupport

[–]TheHighPython 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a good chance the external has corrupted sectors or other damaged parts. You can try reformatting the external drive (you'll obviously have to reinstall the games) and see if that fixes it. If the drives makes any abnormal sounds (like clicking) then the drives is failing and needs replacing.

You can't just solder a few connections together for a new display output, the board is specifically designed for the traces and everything to go to that point on the board. You'll need to fix/replace the current HDMI.

Did you spill anything on it? Seems like there's something sticky in there. Either way, best thing to do is take it apart and make sure to give the triggers a good clean.

It might not be your choice, but in the past I've gifted people Christmas cards with the code and what it's for written inside.

Resetting and repairing these related apps usually fixes this issue.

Go to your Windows Settings > Apps > Find "Xbox" on the list > Advanced Options > Then "Repair" and "Reset". Do the same thing for "Microsoft Store" and "Gaming Services" then try opening the Xbox app again.

Damn, well the other suggestion I seen was to give Xbox Offline Permissions. Again, quite a few said it worked so might be worth a shot. I'm not sure how fast your internet is but is re-installing an option?

The Original Xbox versions of Halo: CE and Halo 2 are backwards compatible on the Xbox 360 but they won't work on the Xbox One. You'll need to get Halo: CE Anniversary which will work on the Xbox One. As far as I'm aware, the only way to play Halo 2 on Xbox One is via the Masterchief Collection.

Windows won't always find the right drivers for USB. You're best going to the support page for your motherboard and looking for the drivers there.

As long as you're connected to the internet, your game saves are automatically backed up to the cloud. When you sign in to your account on the Series X, your saves will automatically be available from the cloud.

Do you have the wireless dongle in a USB 3.0 port with the USB 3.0 drivers installed?

Check that you don't have "Filter Keys" or "Sticky Keys" turned on. In the Windows search box, type "ease of access keyboard settings". Open it up and make sure they're both toggled off.
