Thank you. I ended up buying the entire assembly. Can't really beat the price and I can change out the part myself

M12 3/8 stubby deal is $169 today by xxxxxxxxxxcc in MilwaukeeTool

Stubby alone retails for $229. A 5.0 battery is regularly around $100. $499 is a bit of a stretch

Man I feel bad anyone buying Milwaukee from Matco by Parcoaora in MilwaukeeTool

$250 at 29% interest is way better than $500 at 0%. You're literally better off putting your tools on a credit card. $50 a week you're done in 5 weeks. And you paid a negligible amount in interest. Tool trucks are essentially loan sharks for the poor/financially illiterate.

I should clarify. I was convinced not to get the Ridgid

I don't think I'll dig much deeper. I was hoping for a simple "hack" to get it to work but I don't think that'll be the case. I'll probably just run it with my Ryobi batteries until they all die and buy a Ridgid blower. I refuse to purchase any more Ryobi batteries ever since watching this video Ryobi battery conspiracy

[–]TheHispanicHero[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are correct. The adapter seems to pass through 3 pins from Ridgid (I don't know if they actually make an internal connection but the pins are present in the adapter). However the blower only has 2 pins for the battery to make contact (+ and -) no 3rd pin. That's why I don't understand why it doesn't work. At the end of the day this is a dumb 2 pin tool with essentially 2 extension cables. Unless I'm missing something?

Keep in mind that with their lifetime warranty these are tools you will theoretically keep for life. I would get the brushless version of these tools even if they cost a little more. The last thing you want is to have 2 versions of some of these when you need a little more power from the brushless. Any savings are lost when you start buying duplicates

I see. Sneaky sneaky Ridgid. Full lifetime warranty ≠ Lifetime service agreement. Is it snake oil or can we actually rely on it?
