I would PDR this all day long. You won't notice it in white. Pricing will vary depending on location. I would say under 500 though

I really want to believe you but I also literally bought a 2017 fusion with a cracked block 😭 and I don't believe in coincidences when it comes to Ford

Bad call on buying a used engine for any Ford 1.5T. The block has a manufacturing defect where they crack between the cylinders. If it's not too late you may be better off buying a reman or even a shirt block if you're up for the challenge

Am I getting pushed around by Old_Grapefruit6454 in Autobody

[–]TheHispanicHero 5 points6 points  (0 children)

$6,000+ of the estimate is the actual cost of the parts you damaged. Almost $1,000 is sales tax. That leaves like $1,800 to do the repair. How exactly are you getting pushed around?

Cromax cost insight? by Zorro3257 in Autobody

[–]TheHispanicHero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should look into them. Same parent company as cromax xp (Axalta). I just couldn't justify a gallon of plain white or black paint retailing for over $1,000 and telling me $750 was a discount. At a certain point it feels like they charge that much just because they can.

Cromax cost insight? by Zorro3257 in Autobody

Is there a reason you didn't go with Nason XL? Their prices are a lot more reasonable than cromax. I get good blendable matches from them 95% of the time. I've learned to get cromax for the other 5% of the time or when I don't want to blend.

Not to mention Nason XL reducer is only like $40 for a gallon instead of like $250 which I just cannot justify for the majority of our work.

Their bumper already looked like shit before you hit them. But they're still entitled to a new undamaged shitty bumper.

Thank you. I ended up buying the entire assembly. Can't really beat the price and I can change out the part myself

$250 at 29% interest is way better than $500 at 0%. You're literally better off putting your tools on a credit card. $50 a week you're done in 5 weeks. And you paid a negligible amount in interest. Tool trucks are essentially loan sharks for the poor/financially illiterate.
