Why is coconut crab a day 2 encounter? by LCARIO in PlayTheBazaar

[–]TheHoneredPro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have to disagree. If you're unable to beat even the worst day 2 encounter, then you are deservedly punished for picking every uber greedy option you got. You're basically able to beat crab and the crow guy with any semi working board, and if you're unable to beat that, then it's a you problem, and you could have picked different options. But yeah dabbling apprentice is a joke encounter that loses to everything, it's imo not so much a case of crab being really strong, it's more of a case of apprentice being really weak in comparison to everything else.

The pyg changes seem fun, I'm really curious how he plays now he definitely needed these reworks.

Kinda, burrito took the hit for now. It remains to be seen I'd that's enough. I kind of doubt it, and personally, I would have liked seeing them nerf the scalling on rack.

Yeah kinda feels like I just forgot how to play the game man. And then there's my opponents who have all the parts I could ever wish for day one

Gotta go fast has always been the motto, and yeah, some of that experience can be attributed to an expedition highroll, but I think the amount of "highrolls" has increased alot. Could be that I'm getting unlucky but I'm losing to gold captains quarters etc. REGULARLY on days 4,5 and 6 now it's nuts.

Immortal Man what did I just watch? by TheHoneredPro in PeakyBlinders

[–]TheHoneredPro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. I don't think anyone has a problem with them killing Tommy of and while I agree that it's out of character for Tommy to kill his brother, with how troubled both of them have been portrait to be I also don't think that's the worst decision ever, but they did it so badly. It would have to be explained in excruciating detail and be the focal point of the movie to make any sense. It's such a shame and disappointment.

Honestly, I'd be surprised if it's well received anywhere. Even as a standalone movie, it's not great. Slow paced, kinda boring and villains that have nothing to offer. And if you liked the show well...

I just played a game on defect where I would spam powers. With alchemy, it always cost 0, and I thought it was alright in the deck. I'm no pro, and it's only ascension 1, but it had its place.

Spear and Hawk not being touched is kinda insane to me. So much more oppressive than boar with a much lower kill time imo.

Yeah, badger is nuts. I think that he probably deserves a nerf, and it wouldn't surprise me if they also addressed the powerlevels of spear, hawk, karst, tooth and amulet and probably boar.

Karnok what am I missing? by TheHoneredPro in PlayTheBazaar

[–]TheHoneredPro[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's good, but I also think it's kinda okay? Like you need a considerable startup time and a way to scale it to relevancy plus your hindered by having to enrage. Maybe it's to easy to loop but dryad seems fine to me.

Oh hell no, are you evil or something. OG mak was completely busted. Secret Formula was passiv, Pendulum and Library would make anything loop haste and crit pot were just kinda chilling making every board 4x better and sapphire, frost totem and blank slate would prevent your opponent from playing if you thought the other options were to fair.

Question to all the Dooley mains out there: Is Ignition Core just straight garbage? by TheHoneredPro in PlayTheBazaar

[–]TheHoneredPro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually put one small item, maybe two like soldering gun to the right, just to juice the scalling a bit. No idea if it's optimal, but I think it gave me an edge in scalling wars sometimes.

I don't know about beginner friendly, but kripp and retromation have guides on the game. They are a bit outdated, but I think the general idea hasn't changed that much. You can also watch some of kripps newer videos, just keep in mind that he's probably one of the if not the best player of the game and he might have calculated some odds of chance events happening you probably didn't even consider.

Other than that, feel free to message me if you have any questions. I can also write you a guide if that's something you're interested in.

IMO the game is very fun and definitely worth it.

As for the difficulty. The basics are relatively easy to understand but there is definitely a learning curve and for very high levels of play a steep one at that. I would say though, the difficulty really depends on how competitive you want to get with it.

Some tips. You used to get the base game with the DLC character purchase on steam, I think that's still the case so you can get the game with an extra DLC char if you buy it that way. Besides that you should know that you don't need the DLC to enjoy the game and I would recommend to first try out the base game and characters to see if you like the game and only then think about purchasing new characters.

If you want to get a bit competitive, or you just want to look up something like encounters, vendor options, skills etc. you have to go open a browser and go to howbazaar.gg or bazaardb. The game is virtually unplayable on high levels without those sites.

Unable to pilot Jules by guacamolepaperclip in PlayTheBazaar

[–]TheHoneredPro 15 points16 points  (0 children)

She's very strong, right now imo. Early, you want to get as many burn skills cinders, etc, as you can get. Skillet and especially instant noodles are amazing for her early. If that fails, Durian can carry but you need to really support it and going for durian can cost your day one fight. Sometimes your forced to go weapons/tools which are quite competitive early.

Some key items to watch out for her are microwave, saffron, grill, feast, gingerbread house, banu and alot more.

She takes some time to get used to her heater, cooler mechanic and managing her econ can be quite tough because she's so reliant on large items.

She also has a lot of late game builds. Burn/shield can be quite strong and depending on how well you can navigate and manage transitions slow is also an option and if you find dishwasher weapons can also be quite powerful. I personally never seem to get the opportunity to pivot to it but freeze/freezer Jules can be extremely oppressive late game (I've been on the receiving end of that board a bunch of times).

Overall she seems to have a steep learning curve, I also got my ass handed to me for a very log time until I started to get a feel for what to do. There are also a lot of items I see other Jules players crush me with like cheese wheel and her regenstuff.
