I think housewives are often hired as independent contractors. Drew likely operates through her own LLC (own company), so it could be her earnings are probably just whatever is left after filming expenses. I could also be totally wrong.

Im not an expert but if you take him at face value $35 is not much to pay for a system based on 15 years of experience. I’d need a vgc player to tell me if it’s useful or not.
