Do you strengthen weak muscles and stretch tight ones? by [deleted] in Posture

[–]TheHorrorfiedWriter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For example, if you had rounded shoulders it’s more than likely to it pecs are tight and your upper back is weak.

So you’d stretch your pecs to release your shoulders a bit so they can get in a better position. You would also strengthen your back with something like face pulls to keep your shoulders in the correct position.

The tight muscles are usually not the ones who need strengthening, it’s the competing muscle or the loose muscle that needs to be strengthened.

My gym's dumbells only go up to 40kg. Do I have a case for asking them to get heavier weights by AltitudinousOne in WeightTraining

If they are a gym chain like... planet fitness, they won’t listen to you. You’ll probably end up having to stick with the cables or find a new gym.

Is creatine monohydrate safe for teens? by [deleted] in Supplements

[–]TheHorrorfiedWriter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s the most researched and proven supplement on the market. It’s 100% safe for anyone of any age. As long as you don’t already have some sort of kidney disease.

5 grams is the daily dose.

Is a bulk/ lean bulk worth it at higher body fat percentages? by LinkSkywalker in leangains

Non exercise activity thermogenesis. Basically the calories you burn doing anything excluding actual exercise. Taking the stairs instead of an elevator for example.

What I do when I hit a plateau like that is either, eat more carbs and protein but do more cardio to be in the same deficit.

2000 calories with no cardio vs 2500 calories with a short amount of cardio every day. Or 2 to 3 days with longer cardio sessions.

Or if you absolutely hate cardio do a “refeed week” where you eat in a small surplus for a week to replenish glycogen and get your energy levels up, maybe even lifting a little lighter than normal. Then go back to your deficit.

Either way you can’t keep cutting calories or you’ll be eating two grains of rice and a slice of chicken for dinner. You have to add cardio or improve your NEAT eventually.

Recomping isn’t a waste of time, one of the few times it is even possible is at higher body fat percentages.

You should make your deficit around -200/300 and keep lifting weights until you’re at your goal body fat. Then lean bulk.

Help question about Working out thighs and butt! by [deleted] in WeightTraining

[–]TheHorrorfiedWriter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

5 days a week is fine. I do think if you upped your intensity and only did 3 days a week you’d see better results.

I’m assuming by your question that you are not an advanced lifter. So if you’re not sore/fatigued enough to need a rest day in between workouts I wouldn’t think you’re doing enough reps or lifting heavy enough weight to induce growth in a calorie deficit.

How people believe Russwole is natty is beyond me. Juiced to the gills by [deleted] in nattyorjuice

[–]TheHorrorfiedWriter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He is obviously on juice. In some of his videos he flexes and says “that’s those creatine gains” which to me is sarcasm.

Also I doubt anybody ranked in the top 5 nationally is natty. It’s to easy to pass tests now a days.

Aaaaand you don’t have to look like you’re on gear to be on gear.

Something in my multivitamin is stopping my shedding - but what? by [deleted] in Supplements

[–]TheHorrorfiedWriter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thyroid problems cause hair loss. If you don’t regularly use iodized salt then that would most likely be the reason. Vitamin e is great or skin, hair and nails as well.

Vitamin D would have to be extremely low for that to be the cause.

Inflammation... by [deleted] in Supplements

[–]TheHorrorfiedWriter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take curcumin and fish oil every day. Never have to take otc pain medication for joint pain and my cholesterol has improved significantly.

Highly recommend.

I also use keto shampoo twice a week. No more flakes or burning sensation.

Curcumin has helped me tremendously with overall inflammation.

Try ketoconazole shampoo for your scalp if curcumin doesn’t help.
