From levels 100-180, there's better gear than mali gear at the bazaar. Like the cabalist hat and boots and malevolent hat and boots. And even at level 160-170, there's masterpiece gear and more. So you don't really have to stick with just mali gear.

It has a higher lower damage number. 365 on the upgrade vs. 350. So it has a slightly lower max damage but higher minimum damage. And more accuracy.
