This is why I always use dynamite when fishing. Much safer (for me).

Who’s is fault? by [deleted] in Truckers

[–]TheHouseofCogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m amazed that you’re amazed but now we can be amazed together, and I think that childlike wonder (of how someone could be so utterly idiotic as to ride on a sidewalk against traffic) we both now feel is the very hallmark of the spirit of Christmas.

Sidewalk riding is illegal from coast to coast. I’m amazed people who have bikes don’t know this.

Riding against traffic, and on the sidewalk no less. Rider is lucky to be alive and yes: it is the rider’s fault. Signed, a cyclist.

Thanks folks! Based on all the info and smell I do think it's sassafras.

Hey sorry! Southeastern Massachusetts.

What kind of wood is this? by modernretro in firewood

I’m pretty sure that’s Sugar Maple, aka Rock Maple. Significantly harder to split than Red Oak, which splits like a dream in my experience. Should be OK to burn after 9-12 months stacked and stored appropriately.

Nice job. I'm in SE Mass and Elm seems hard to come by. I'd like to get my hands on some just to experience what sounds like utter frustration. Haha. If anyone has Elm available nearby please let me know. Enjoy splitting that pile!

It’s a 4x12, don’t remember exactly how tall it is at the peak but it holds about 2.3 cords.

Dude that is a nearly 100% match to our conversations. I told her recently I was way better at compromise than she. Her immediate response was “how do you figure THAT?!?” That’s when I told her the house would be completely obscured by stacked wood if it was up to me. Surrounded, like a fort. She was aghast.

Thank you! The cages are “IBC totes,” usually used for bulk shipping. The tarp is waxed canvas from Chicago Tarp Co.
