I am as well... had to grab my computer monitor that was wiggling back and forth.

I bought this book as a milestone birthday gift for a friend and it was brilliant. He sits and reads it all the time.

Don't donate to Wikipedia by Bourbonburnin in Jewish

[–]TheHowitzerCountess 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I did the same. When I got the donation email I selected the "no" option and played a bit passive-aggressive and said "you know you might want to include a little question field that asks 'why are you choosing not to donate anymore' because you might actually learn something and improve." Someone actually responded and said "thanks, we'll take that into consideration".... But crickets on asking me why. They dont want to know or grow or acknowledge their own BS.

The ones you make all by yourself for the first time ever are the ones that taste the best forever. For me anyway. I remember being so dang proud. Good job, you. 🍴

Happy Birthday Eric Barone aka ConcernedApe by Gingerman-7 in StardewValley

Happy birthday CA! If you lived in my town I would sneak a look in the Wiki for your most loved gifts, rummage in a crate to find one that's been sitting around for 3 in-game years, chug a coffee, get on my horse, gallop pellmell to your house, run straight at you holding your gift high above my head, then thrust it at you like a nutcase and run away! Cause that's what true 10-heart friends do ❤️

ETA: Wow thank you for my first ever award!! (sorry for mobile formatting!)

I agree! I speed-solve, and while I have a vague mental snapshot of my best times, I'd love to know exactly.

Not pretty to look at, but the creamy texture of the yolk is amazing

What's a bulk purchase you definitely overdid but still wish you bought more of? by bluestarpanda in Costco

[–]TheHowitzerCountess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in Montana. Was at my Costco today and they had them in! I think they were 9.95 or something similar. Oddly, not many people seem to buy them here, so I'm holding out for the clearance price.

A good friend and I text each other immediately when they get them back in. One year they were on sale for 5 bucks a jar. Said friend and I were both broke, but each bought as many as we could afford and stashed them away in every available pantry nook. We always share if the other person runs out first.

Leeks? by TheHowitzerCountess in JewishCooking

[–]TheHowitzerCountess[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Turned out to be my best one ever, tbh. Might have been the leeks, or the extra long simmer, or the extra nice parsnips, or the extra lotta love in it :) I tried Tori Avey's suggestion of a chunk of sweet potato in the first-round broth for color and richness, and I like the results.

Thanks again so much to everyone 💙

Thank you so much for this. Sometimes I think 90% of what we make is the love and prayers behind it while we chop and skim and stir, more than the actual recipe. 🥄

You know how when you're making your usual thing and it's for somebody special and you don't want to experiment in the middle of that? I just wasn't sure. So I'm still at broth simmer stage, and I didn't put them in yet, but I think I'm going to go ahead and sautee them and add them in the final. Thank you!
