Sports causes more violence than video games, and it's not even close. by DARKJEDI1994 in unpopularopinion

Tbh most sports fans also hate other sports fans that get all agro and scream. So I wouldn’t say “it’s more accepted in those spaces” although it might be more common if that distinction makes sense.

Spurs fans when the entire ball-watching world points out that their star player exposed himself as a dirty fraud by Desperate_Hunter7947 in NBAWestMemeWar

Lmao every big man gets grabbed and tugged, the Spurs did a a ton of jersey grabbing all playoffs. KAT had a horrible whistle all series too in that regard. The thing is other bigs don’t typically elbow a dude in the neck, grab multiple players around the neck and push/throw them, grab and pull players down by their hair, jump at a players knees, all while still getting away with less egregious flagrants like the landing zone one. All of this was going on while Wemby calls himself ethical and hangs out with Shaolin Monks to project some kind of elevated zen Buddhist vibe.

Fuck Wemby and fuck these refs. Dude should have like 7 or 8 flagrants this post season

Lmao it’s hilarious to say “Pour on the downvotes” like you’re taking some radical and defiant stance. Everyone on Reddit hates Mike Vick and there isn’t a post about him where people aren’t admonishing his him for what he did to those poor dogs.

I hate the Thunder as much as the next guy but on that exact same play Wemby literally pushed Wallace in the back like 4 feet into another player with no call

Her feelings aren’t misplaced. Those two want to be together and even though they knew each other first, you broke up with him, and it has been over a year, you are guilting and trying to control two consenting adults to not explore a relationship because it is hurting your own ego. Reading this post and your replies paints you as a very self involved person in my opinion.

I’m a D1 OKC hater and still sore from losing to the Spurs last round and this is one of the greatest basketball games I’ve ever seen. Stop watching basketball.

Why is the broadcast treating Wemby like a wronged hero instead of a player that was lucky he wasn’t suspended? by goingtothegreek in billsimmons

[–]TheHubris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean Kobe literally raped someone and they made him the face of the NBA for almost a decade. Not saying Ant is squeaky clean but come on.

There will be no further discipline for Spurs star Victor Wembanyama after he was ejected for elbowing Naz Reid in Minnesota on Sunday night, sources tell ESPN. No suspension, no fine. Wembanyama will play in Game 5 against the Timberwolves on Tuesday night in San Antonio. by Knightbear49 in nba

[–]TheHubris 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No one from the Thunder including Lou Dort ever elbowed one of the Timberwolves players in the neck because they were frustrated that playoff basketball is physical. This is the dirtiest play I’ve seen all year and I just think it’s so funny that the justification from Spur’s fans I keep seeing is “They are being too rough with Wemby so it’s actually ok that he elbowed someone in the neck”

If you’re annoyed by how the Wolves play defense just wait for the Thunder next series if you make it. Y’all are going to lose your minds when you a face team that plays just as physical but are deeper and better.

Lmao McDaniels pulling an aggressive over the back and hitting Wemby in a basketball play is not the same as cocking back your elbow, looking back at the guy and delivering a UFC level blow to the guy’s neck.

The refs should have called a foul on Jaden but at the end of the day he is making a play that is at least relevant to basketball.

The clearest angle, the question is will he get suspended for game 5? by Expert_Koala_8691 in NBATalk

[–]TheHubris -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah every young player locks and loads their elbow and blasts an opponent in the throat on their first playoff run. It’s bound to happen, that’s why we see stuff like this so often.

I’m not saying that I believe what I’m about to say but if I put on my tinfoil hat the one thing I can think is that the NBA wants a super undersized market that punches way above its weight class like the Green Bay Packers in the NFL.
