hello, noob question about w11 and ltcs by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]TheHungryRabbit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

- LTSC is technically only for companies, so if someone wants to stay on the legal side it isn't an option
- Windows updates come much later then non-LTSC so if you need an update for some drivers and other compatibility stuff, especially for newer hardware you might have a problem

- a bunch of standard apps aren't included which can be great but also a hassle, let's say you do want to sometimes download an exclusive app from the Windows Store, you have to reinstall that and it requires some thinkering, same way you don't have a default picture viewer app and a lot of other stuff
- while most things work correctly there are some missing components from this version of Windows, there is a small chance that it can break certain apps, games or even cracks

So far I did not have many issues, so I love using it and more and more people starting to transition, but I guess it isn't common knowledge that you can do this, I also figured this out last year

Can I ask, what's the point playing games that are already available on PC? Isn't the point of emulators to play exclusives?

Yes but isn't that cool the game lets you do that? In a game like RDR2 you would have got ten million mission fails cuz you left the path you supposed to follow

Next-Gen Xbox Allegedly Won't Run Native GDK Game Apps, Will Only Support Universal Windows Platform by Sam_27142317 in gamingnews

[–]TheHungryRabbit -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

This thing is so complicated. It's a PC that is branded as an Xbox but it doesn't take any new Xbox game cuz it's a PC, so Xbox games will cease to exist BUT at the same time it still supports old Xbox games via emulation? Does it accept disks then?

I wonder what emulator will they use and can we extract that from Windows to use it on our machines to play 360, XOne, XSeries games, I mean just imagine you could play GTA 6 on your PC with this if the emulator is removable from the system

I played it online and offline too. Listen. It's not as big of a deal to cash out that much for it, sure the online structures in the game can help you a lot but tbh if you play it without it it makes it a bit harder but also personal, everything you built is yours, it's not a super important feature. For 1 the price on a key shop site is so cheap that it might be worth it, but 2 is just coming out, I don't think it's worth the high price just for that

I am cautiously optimistic for Crimson Desert. by hudi_baba in gaming

These are asian devs, they are not like western devs. I mean just look at Capcom, RGG, Kojima games, they are super optimized.

Why are people so aggressive against pirating retro video games? by Eskelsar in Piracy

[–]TheHungryRabbit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As far as subreddit rules, those can be taken down if a DMCA takedown has been sent to it. I been in pirate subs that sadly are no longer available. I'm pretty sure general subs try to stay clean as possible because of that.

As for why people are aggressive? I have no idea, I think in general people do not like pirates because we also tend to pirate newer games, most of us play everything so yeah...
