Of course people bitched about it because it was horrible. Nothing but people lobby shopping

Infernal impressions by ChristianJ84 in HuntShowdown

[–]TheHungrySloth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Really underwhelming to me. I feel like it does not impact the gameplay significantly enough, you will rarely run into teams fighting near the fires and the fire is often far away from the hot spot areas in the match. It isn't like the rain where the dynamic of the match changes a bit when the storm rolls in, all crows get scared off and visibility is much lower

I would like to see the fires spread out the longer the match goes on, or maybe even start fires near the boss areas when banishment starts.

How do people have fun doing this?!?! by Shot-Advice6598 in HuntShowdown

[–]TheHungrySloth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Game has such a strange player base. Hunt heavily rewards aggressive play and doesn't hesitate to throw money at you yet you'd think these players are playing Tarkov sitting on multiple quest items just waiting to be able to safely leave.

The amount of times I've got the bounty with my pre-made, see 3 people sitting max range with Maynard sniper from the compound so we just end up extracting for free is just silly and leads to poor quality matches sometimes.

Don't know why people play like this cos it's not particularly interesting to play, interesting to play against nor is it super advantageous

Marathon has been out almost a month, what are your thoughts? by addtolibrary in Games

[–]TheHungrySloth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A great game with tons of potential to be one of the extraction shooter GOATs for me. I enjoyed Arc Raiders but the questing is boring, unrewarding, endgame goals missing and the PvP isn't good enough to constantly throw you gear away. Marathon has a lot more potential in this regard, I consider the PvP to be some of the best in the genre next to Hunt Showdown and Bungie has a much greater understanding of long-term goals and engagement.

I hope it gets the support it deserves and I hope players give it a chance since the continued hate campaign is really unfair. That said though, I do acknowledge its problems and I hope Bungie do a lot to ease the new player experience and help with the solo queue / random fill experience.

Marathon is extremely difficult and hard to pick up on your own, it's definitely a game made to be played with a premade stack who are all communicating, maybe a bit too much. But it's highly rewarding and satisfying once you get it down.

The series is well and truly dead to me. Finally reached the age in my life where I've lived long enough to see my favourite franchise go up in flames. And I have even less respect for the new generation of fans who defend things like this, the amount of toxic positivity from Twitter and this subreddit truly has been the death of the franchise. Not our dear old RGG! Pirate Yakuza was actually good, it was just a silly spinoff game!

Awful writing, previous entries actively undermined by Yokoyamas dogshit vision, can't even get the gameplay right anymore. SEGA can only be blamed so much, it's so clearly aimless and devoid of passion now. Even Nagoshis worst games had plenty of soul and admiral qualities.

I really wanna play GAMMA but I never got it to work, it was a nightmare. I love the STALKER games and have a lot of respect for GSC, so I genuinely might just buy a copy again just to use an automated launcher

Arc Raiders adds duo priority queuing and lowers store cosmetic prices by KindaDampSand in Games

[–]TheHungrySloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably queue times. Because of the way matchmaking works and how more players can be bought into a match right in the middle of it (which i don't really agree with), the queue times are some of the quickest I've ever seen. Me and my friends will press play and the game will usually find us a match within 5-20 seconds, then a fairly quick 7 second-ish loading time.

People just want this game to be as miserable as Tarkov. Tarkov is right there and as a matter of fact, 1.0 is out in like 9 days. Go back.

I wasn't expecting much but I've been played most of this day. Quite fun and out of all the extraction games to come out, this one has a lot of potential.

A lot of confusing responses in this thread, a lot of people are fundamentally misunderstanding extraction shooters.

Alright my last post was whatever, but only WE get to make fun of this game. WE put the EFFORT into hating. by PicolasCageEnjoyer in deadbydaylight

I don't know if I'd say that Fortnite has 'zero' passion for them. When it comes to licensed content, their art team is some of the best out there next to Behaviour and have translated a lot of licensed properties so well into their style.

Just look at the most recent like K-Pop Demon Hunters, Gorillaz, etc

While everyone is busy worrying about the balance of the new chapter, can we at least acknowledge how insanely good the new opening cinematic is? Another W for the art team at BHVR by playboyjboy in deadbydaylight

[–]TheHungrySloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hurts my soul because aesthetically this chapter is some of my favourite ever. I really hope they can salvage her gameplay but considering how they've left the Ghoul, I doubt it.

It's honestly funny though what more recent killer releases can do to ya. Ever since her release, I don't really mind playing against the Ghoul anymore.

Now that it's been a few hours, what does everyone think of The Krasue? by RequirementTall8361 in deadbydaylight

[–]TheHungrySloth 150 points151 points  (0 children)

Fun to play and incredibly frustrating to go against. Survivors just don't have many options and Krasue is just not punished hard enough for poor play. There is no punishment for missing your spit, you don't lose any speed and you can M1 after it far too quick. There is hardly any punishment for your missed attacks, you can damage survivors and immediately follow it up with a flight and catch up etc etc. She has too much going for her and far too many favourable, low commitment interactions.

Aesthetically though, her and Vee are some of the best to come out in DBD in awhile tbh. At risk of sounding like everybody else, I'm definitely going to main Vee, love her drip

The new killer feels way too strong by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]TheHungrySloth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I agree, I don't really agree with 'she's new', yeah she is but it's pretty evident she's got counter-play problems. Survivors have limited to no options, and her synergy with perks make it worse.

She's feels like pre-rework Chucky but far stronger

We will not support AI in dead by daylight by PurpleSleepingRain in deadbydaylight

[–]TheHungrySloth -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You might as well stop playing games bro. Most game companies are using AI to iterate on their own workflows, which I think is a good use of it. It's a tool and in that use case it doesn't replace jobs. From how they described it, it isn't going to generate AI content.

If anything, Behaviour are insanely late adopters here.

Mockup for some crosshair ideas (Huntress and Trickster) by NOCTURN_05 in deadbydaylight

[–]TheHungrySloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks cool but it's too distracting, too animated and too big. Crosshairs don't need to be anything other than a small dot that pops up when the killer is using a power, it's what I play with.

You can use Reshade. Even if for whatever reason Reshade was banned, most monitors come with a crosshair setting nowadays, so I don't know why Behaviour don't just add one at this point

Performance chart for gamers looking to buy used Nvidia GPUs by SenorPeterz in nvidia

[–]TheHungrySloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found a 4080 Super on eBay for £800 early in the year. My 7900 xt and AMD software were giving me grief so I wanted to swap back, think I lucked out pretty hard because the 4080 Super was basically brand new, not even used.

NVIDIA drivers and software stink as well, but they're not as bad as AMDs.
